That's certainly why he was chosen above other notables for the spot, but be fair. He has a credible recor of political actavism going back decades, about twice as long as the guy who actually is president.

All the way back to anti-vietnam, although he was pretty much just a civillian. He's a big lefty and has spoken for Migrant Workers rights a lot.

I'll tell you a secret, though. There i nothing worse than an actor thinking they know something about politics. It can lead to a WORLD of trouble.

His first activism related arrest was for protesting the 'star wars' missile defense system. He's protested the military use of Visques Island and unsafe nuclear power plant, particularly those with no real evacuation plans. I'll post more of I think of it, but "Ramon Estevez", our first hispanic "president" has done his share of time on the lines.
