I was showing my dad a new tattoo I got last night on my back, and he noticed I have a few of those weird cancerous bumps. He was like "eh, skin cancer" and was telling me how it runs in the family and he had it and had to get surgery to get them removed by lazer or something.
This is going to suck.

Just get to the doctor a.s.a.p.
It might just be cysts(sp?) or it might be absolutley nothing.
Don't worry untill you know for sure.

Sorry to hear that, Spooky. I hear that skin cancer is the easiest to get rid of though.

If I remember correctly, skin cancer patients have at least a 90% survival rate. The odds favour you, not that lump that hates your guts and wants to kill you. =)
Have fun with cancer. Name the lumps Lumpy.

My dad had skin cancer about two years ago. He had to put some lotion on his face for a while but then it went away. I'm sure there was more to the treatment than that. But anyway, aside from having these bright red, easily noticable splotches on his face (that came from the treatment, not the cancer itself), it wasn't so bad and he's well past it now.

Several years ago we used to make referances to everything as cancer, this was developed from a joke when I passed someone Sweet n' Low and said "Cancer Please?" And for a year after that everything organic was called cancer.
Referances to cancer as anything other than abnormal cell growth stopped being funny eventually because I realized it really wasn't.

It's suppose to be. Although some, like the kind my mom had, their not able to cure. :o

As long as you caught it somewhat early and get it treated before it spreads, you'll most likely be fine. I had a malignant mole on my shoulder removed a couple years ago....it's not that bad. Probablyk the worst part I'd have to say is getting the shots to numb it (it's especially bad if they go right into the center of the mole like they did with me, and it was incredibly sensitive as it was....)......after that, just make sure you don't watch while they're removing it....since they're on your back, I don't think that you'll have much of a problem with that. If it helps, usually they'll let you wear headphones and listen to music while they're working if it helps relax you. (Wish I'd done that.) But after they remove it, depending on which method of removal they did (if they freeze them off, laser, or the old fashioned way with a scalpel....that's how I had it done), you may or may not have to have stitches for a couple of weeks. I did, and it left a nasty scar (supposedly, it wasn't SUPPOSED to :rolleyes), but other than that, you'll be fine, I'm pretty sure. It's fairly easy to remove, PROVIDED YOU CATCH IT EARLY. That is crucial. The sooner you get those removed, the sooner you won't have to worry about them anymore :)
And as for those of you just saying "I have cancer : - (" just for the hell of saying it......it's not funny, those of us who've ever have it, or still do, don't think it's funny at all. Sorry to sound like a right bitch, but it's true.

Ah don't sweat it. if its one of those moles they'll just rip it out nerve and all. If it's melanoma then that's a different story. Wish you the best.
