I guess I'm the exception to the rule, because I was never one to date someone for their looks. But most girls, from what I've seen anyway, don't start to go for guys based on personality till at least the late 20's.

The sad truth is, no girl will ever completely go just for personality. A guy may be awesome to hang out with, and that's cool, but if he's not good to look at, then it's all over between the two and it'll probably be nothing more than a minor friendship.

Then again, you can see someone and say "They're the ugliest person ever" and then you'd get to know them and they'd be nice to you and, as if it was some type of illusion, they'll get prettier...so I don't know :/

That being said, women won't ever date you just because you are a "nice guy." Personality is crucial, but it's more confidence/self-esteem based. Women are attracted to men who believe in themselves and are "with it," so to speak. That's why money and success are aphrodisiacs--because they signal a competent, successful man.

No, they date assholes because they're interesting and dominant--not because they're good-looking. Hardly any of the "assholes" from my high school were attractive, yet they had girlfriends because of their personalities.
