I'm doing a thing about product placement in old NES/SNES/SMS/Genesis/etc. games, and just realized I don't know half as many as I thought I would. Any tips?

Well, I got a list somewhere but I lost it. It was only about four games anyway. The one I can remember the name of was Biker Mice From Mars (European version).

I guess you could mainly check alot of sports games and games based on popular shows/movies first, then move on to any others.

You asked for tips. :/

TMNT the arcade game (nes) had something to do with Pizza Hut if I remember correctly... that's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I will continue to brainstorm while at work.

The only ones I can think of were the blatant games related to the company's mascots, like that Noid game and the 7-Up one.

Cool Spot and Izzy's Olympic Adventure were both just big ads.

Sounds like a fun piece. :)

And it's not really an old game, but Super Monkey Ball is insanely blatant about advertising Dole bananas. I mean, it's really really blatant. I've been playing the game all week, and all I crave is bananas. :tear

The Izzy game fucking sucked though, it was like playing sonic the hedgehog with no enemies or bosses >:

Sounds like a fun piece. :)

Yeah, too bad it's not for you :lol2

Actually, I haven't decided if it's an I-mock or an Obscura piece yet. If I can't find more obscure material it'll probably work best for this site.

But thanks to everyone for their help. Keep them coming.

I remember in Maniac Mansion on NES, I think you have to give the tentacle a Pepsi to get by. :(

Heh, alrighty, I'm always open to more video game pieces for I-Mockery, so just lemme know if that's what ya wanna do.

Diablo 2 (Ancient Game)

That Cow Level. It's trying to sell Beef in a Mad Cow world.

Honestly, something about walking cuts of steak going moo makes me hungry. Slaughtering them yourself is an added perk.
