Silly girl the humidifier has a valve that when the water gets low it shuts off, if the water wasn't low it might have a glitch in it. Your kitchen lights might be hooked up to another switch in the house :/ I don't believe in spirits but I seem to bound like a cat when I leave the basement after I shut all the lights out :(

there was plenty of water in the humidifier. we bought two of them that day. the one in the living room was still on.

the light in the kitchen that went on is on my ceiling fan. it has no switch. it's on a remote, which is placed in a holder on the wall.
