View Full Version : Hardest bosses you ever fought

So which bosses that you fought kick your ass the most and generally piss you off?

For me, it's:

The Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2 (I HATE HIS FIRST FORM!) >:

The final boss from Doom 2

and that's about what I can think of at the top of my head at the moment.

The undead in Return of the King.

The final General in Command and Conquer zero hour has Nukes, Partical Cannons and SCUD storms.

It has been a long time since I've ever had a REALLY difficult time with a boss, but Metroid Prime and the Forbidden One (CV:LoI) both killed me once or twice.

that's just what I can think of off the top of me head.

Ursula, Kingdom Hearts.

You beat her first form, which isn't so hard as it's fucking annoying. Then she grows 20,000 feet and you have to fight her some more.

And EWS, the Wacky Races bosses weren't that hard. Except for that quicksand guy, the guy in the tank.

Final Fantasy 7's eh...forgot the name of that fuck, the ultimate weapon that lerks in the water near the end of the game. I still couldn't beat the Ruby one :(

The very last Foot in Snake Rattle n' Roll. A friend and I used game genie to finally get there and ended up having to spend about an hour of constant tounge lashing just to kill him. And once you finally kill him, all you get is a "Join us again for SRR part 2" which was never even made.

Dr. Wily's last form in mega man 7 is insanely hard too.

No cheating was involved. And I wasn't leveled up all that much or anything. My friends were telling me how cool his Super Nova attack is, but he only does it after he takes so much damage. So I wanted to see it, and I went to fight him, not expecting to win.

I didn't use any summons or special tactics. I just attacked over and over, trying to get him to do the attack. And I killed him. To this day, I STILL haven't seen Super Nova.

actually i weas supprised at how easy he was, espically compared to those 2 weapons. I never beat those things.

the enemy right before the shadow in zelda 2 used to be pretty fucking hard for me.

I also remeber shredder in tmnt being hard, but then again ti was fucking near impossible to get to him so there wasnt much left to fight him with.

The final boss of Wrath of the Black Manta. I would really love for someone to beat this guy ever without knowing exactly what to do ahead of time. Even then he is stupid hard.

He is always facing you holding a little girl in front of him and he has only 4 health. You can only beat him by using 4 different techniques as hinted in the game, but really you only do 3 and one of them is done twice.
The girl takes up 3/4ths of his body so all you can hit is his head or his back (yeah right). Every time you hit the girl he regains 1 health, unless he is at full health then you lose 1 health. If you use the wrong technique he gains back 1 health, if he hits you he gains back 1 health.

I never beat him untill I went online and learned exactly what combo of qechs to use. And even then it seemed hard as hell.

Sephiroth was fucking easy. I beat him by accident. BY ACCIDENT.

Yeah, next time make sure that the Gameshark codes aren't on.Unless you were at level 50 and had no equipment would this boss be titled "hardest of all time." I walways fought him with all the ultimate weapons, levels mazed out, all the master materias for 3 teamembers, and 3 mastered "enemy skill" materia myself.

My experiences:

The last boss of Megaman X4 drove me fucking nuts after I'd learned to beat the rest of the game without dying :(

Dracula in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was really hard unless you used the invincibility spell (which I could never get without cheating because that battle arena was difficult in ungodly proportions).

Velius in Final Fantasy Tactics was the most hated boss in all of video gaming for a while after FFT was released.

All the optional Weapons in Final Fantasy 7 and 8 unless you were mad powerful (Knights of the Round in FF7 and Holy Wars to make you invincible in FF8).

I remember getting hosed by Chaos in FF1 but I was a little kid so that may have just been me sucking..

The last dude in MediEvil 2 (the whole last stage, actually) was incredibly tough, again after blazing through the rest of the game.

He never's done Super Nova? That's really weird...he does that attacks right after he goes into desperation mode. Has he done Omnislash even?

But how, exactly, did you manage to beat him? The earliest I can beat him is mid 60's, and that's only after months of hard training. It's impossible to just walk up to him and hit and win, especially once he goes into desperation mode. Just give me a bit more info on how you beat him, I'd really like to know.

One more thing...am I the only one here who actually beat the emerald/ruby weapon? They're both really not that hard, if you have the right materia setup. I was in my mid-80's when I beat them. Cloud and Red XIII had Mimic, while Vincent had KotR with double-summon and MP turbo. He used it, and they both mimicked it over and over again. It wasen't too bad really. The strategy changed a bit for Ruby, but you get the idea.

Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts. I had to be level 95 to beat him, with the ultima weapon. In FF7 he's easyer than a two dollar whore. With out cheating. And Ruby and Emerald were hard too, and my stats were maxed every one level 99.

It's been a while since that accidental beating. I just remember I was plugging away at him, but I wasn't going all out with powerful attacks and whatnot. I just wanted to make him use the attack, and he just never did.

And I beat Emerald and Ruby during my most recent run through the game. I intended to get enough Materia for all three of my party members, but the Materia System is just too fucking unbalanced. Even with the Movers, they only gave you a fraction of what you'd need to level more powerful Materia even one time, let alone mastering it. So I just went in with what I had, and managed to beat them.

I'm only calling this a "boss fight" because Halo doesn't have boss fights, just incredibly hard sections of levels that essentially double as boss fights.

Truth & Reconciliation, when you board the alien ship. On Legendary, single player. So incredibly hard.

And I agree on the TMNT arcade game. Minus Stockman, though. That guy was a bitch. The first TMNT game for NES was almost impossibly hard after the 3rd level. I actually made it to Shredder one time. It took me all day to get there and the asshole kills me in less than a minute. :/

I must have been insanely lucky when I beat Shredder the only time I've ever gotten to him. I was sure I was going to die, but he got stuck in a loop or something. That ram guy from FFT really really pissed me off. He had those fucking cheap gargoyle monsters, that he didn't even need, and he kept casting cyclops like 5 times in one turn. All the other guys who got curropt from those stones were insanely easy. The last boss was almost no challenge.

Actually, the Movers are the best, and I did use Triple Growth weapons. But the numbers for the Materia are just so ridiculously high, that it still takes forever to master the ones you need to make the WEAPON fights easier.

According to FAQs, you get 2400AP for fighting three Movers (though I don't remember it being that high, but it's been a while). Triple that, and you get 7200. To master Knights of the Round, it takes 1,050,000AP, and then you have to do it again (and possibly again, if you want the third guy to be able to cast it more than once), so each member can have that command. That's still almost 300 battles, and that's not even taking into consideration that Movers are very rare.

Supafly345
Jan 28th, 2004, 03:15 PM
Movers and magic pots are in the same damn area. So just hang around there for ap. You see magic pots much more often by the way, and are much easier if you have the w-item materia.

Yeah, I agree. Stockman sucks. A neat little hint for the first arcade game with Stockman in his human form, keep killing the mousers. He'll run out and flee. I was playing a few days ago on my NES and yelled to the game the following words."HEY, FUCK YOU FUCKING REDNECK GREASEBALL PIECE OF SHIT! I OUGHTA RAPE YOU THROUGH THE FACE!" I hope you enjoyed that renacting moment.
Also, the first TMNT NES game was a bitch to beat. I got up to the turtle van level and no farther, but Shredder is a bitch to beat. He always has that move that turns you back into an ordinary turtle, taking one fucking life.

Why do you have to master KotR? I didn't. My KotR was only at level 2 or 3 when I beat them. I just kept fighting Magic Pots untill I masterd Mimic. I gave a mimic to Cloud and Red XIII and had Vincent with KotR and MP Turbo and W-Summon. And few more masterd Speed+'s and Magic+'s to each character and they barely touched me.

The first time I fought Velius, my turns went thus (after Wiegraf falls):

Turn 1: Ramza moves, hits with both swords (he has Double Weapon equipped and is a Knight).
Turn 2: One of my Ninjas moves in, attacks with boths swords, misses with one.
Turn 3: Ramza moves again for some reason, hits with both swords, Velius is slain.

Sheer luck. I've never beaten him so easily since.

Bosses I've found hard: The final boss from South Park (N64) is just plain cheap. If you hurt him, he recharges all his health back! Sure, you can stop it, but by the time the hit registers to stop it, he's fully healed.

Yaridovich from Super Mario RPG was a nightmare. Every one of his attacks knocks half your life off if you're not at ridiculously high levels.

Sephiroth, Kurt Zisa, and the Phantom from Kingdom Hearts are that game's WEAPONs, i.e., all optional bosses found only in America that cannot be stopped if you're under level 80. I learned this from personal, painful experience.

Marx in Kirby Superstar was trickier than any boss I had run into up to that point.

On one last note, the Beholder from D&D: Tower of Doom (an arcade game) made a career out of kicking my ass repeatedly.

Desann was a bitch.

Easy way to beat him: There are two switches on the sides of the arena you fight him in. Use force push/pull to move them. Then, when a stream of energy flows through the middle, jump in it. It gives you temporary invincibility. Then just throw on speed and hit him with your strong lunge attack, or just vertical swings. He should die after two times.

Jedi Academy was unbelievably easy. The combat suit from Dark Forces and Jerec were the only two final bosses that gave me any trouble in that series. That asshole with only half a body gave me a hell of a time in JK, though. And so did the Twi'lek you have to fight before you go after Jerec in that game.

I played ST:25th Anniversary. I also beat the Enterprise clone, but it was hard and took many days and a lot of luck. :(

I, to this day, can't beat the Enterprise clone. It's been well over ten years that I've been failing.

Second-to-last form of General Corrosive in Metal Arms: Glitch in the system. It should be pretty easy, just collect computer chips and hack into him. It should be, except for the fact that a chunk of steel the size of the Queen Elizabeth 2 is trying his best to grind your little body into the floor with a foot the size of a U-Haul. Took me 6 hours to finally get past him.

Mother Brain in Metroid Zero Mission. This time she can actually attack you, which is very annoying.

I had a hell of a time killing that Triceratops guy in Viewtiful Joe. The one who sounds like a blues singer and rides on a motorcycle and stuff. The other bosses I didn't have so much trouble with, but that one was killer.

I was playing ST 25 anniversary the other day, and I finally beat the Enterprize clone. It felt good after all these years of trying.

You guys ever played NARC on the good ol' NES. The robot Mr. Big thing pissed me off soooo bad. I could never figure out how to beat him so I'd sit there for like an hour with the Game Genie shooting everything at him. I still haven't beat him even to this day!

I remember i never could get past the dinosaur in Bart vs. the Space Mutants. I thought I'd try again on an emu many years later and downloaded a walktrhough. How the hell was I supposed to know you were expected to jump onto a rock lying on the ground five hundred feet into the distance and then jump onto another rock a thousand feet into the distance and then jump on the exact spot on the back on the t-rex's neck that you wouldn't fall through and die?

No part of that game even touched on tough until Hard mode, and even then was too easy.

Ridley with only a Varia Suit and 8 missles on Hard mode. Try that. I still haven't beaten him yet. >:

The charge beam does more damage than a missile. I hardly used anything other than that each time I fought him.
