We're starting work on an online team-based adventure game that's a throwback to 80s gaming in concept and design. Most positions on the team have already been filled, but we're in need of C++/C# programmers with a knowledge of online how-to and database functionality and the ability to create a multi-player gaming environment (please note: this game would not be done in Flash). This is a free thing (like all our games), so don't expect to get rich off it, but it'll be a fun project and could help get your name 'on the map' and in a portfolio later. Anyway, PM or e-mail me if you're interested; Don't just say it in the thread 'cause I'll probably miss it.

My c++ programing skills are pretty weak and i know little to none about ntworking in it, I am ok with databases, and i have little time,
but i know a guy who is pretty much a badass in c and networking, I know he was once interested in making an online game, he might be interested in working on this perhpaps.

If I knew how to be good at something other than playing three chords on the guitar really fast over and over, then I'd help. It would be my honor :)

I could do character designs prolly. Can't code worth anything, though. :/

I use to make games using that click and create program. Don't know too much about C++.
May I ask what is this game going to be like? Is it gonna be like a walk-around rpg like thing, or will it be something like that coke game where you just chat and shit.

Neither. Don't want to go into the details of the game too much, but it will be action-based and you will get to customize how your characters look.

Is this like a web game or is it something that you'll have to download?

Web game as in played inside the browser? Why do you need C++ for that? I'm not even sure if it's possible to run C++ programs in a browser. You'd probably be a lot better off with Java; all the database stuff already exists through JDBC. Of course, I have ZERO experience writing networking stuff, so I could be wrong about the C++ stuff...
Where I work we do some of that, but it still requires Java to send stuff from the client to the to C++ stuff running on the server.

Shrug, whoever knows how to program this kinda stuff would probably know what is and isn't required for a game of this nature. I don't care if they use urine and dog biscuits to get the damned thing working... just as long as it works.
