I used to try a lot a couple years ago, but too many people on them are fuck heads.

Try Runescape. It's a pretty good online RPG, and it's free.

Might not be what you're looking for, but I've been quite taken with Neopets. It's sort of like a Pokemon/RPG/Sim/more game. You don't necessarily play with other people, but you can talk to you others, fight them, join a guild, etc.

Nothing and I mean NOTHING is better than Subspace/Continuum. It used to be a game you could buy in the stores, but when the game got dropped, the game community took it over and kept it going and made it free.

It's the only game that I play on a regular basis. Absolutely awesome. You can choose from tons of custom zones, each with unique maps and ship settings. Personally, I prefer the "T3 The Gauntlet (SSC)" zone... great ship settings, great map, and a lot of people playing all at once.

And the best thing is, you can have an ultra shitty computer and the game will still run fine.

Soldat in a RPG engine would rock, but it's a gorey and addictive online game anyhow

No it's not down, I just visited it now.

Schimid, it's not hard, it just takes practice to get used to all of the weapons. You can setup macros to buy stuff to make things easier. I've been playing that game for over 5 or 6 years now easily.

If you like Diablo-style hack and slash, Priston Tale is pretty good. It takes a Gig on your harddrive though.

Okay, the campus network sucks. It gives me random ping spikes that are no problem for downloads but lag me out of Subspace every thirty seconds or so and get me killed constantly at other multiplayer games. >:
