Ok, I just beat it but I'm still a little confused on some things.

So...cloud was going to be in soldier but was too weak but he still had jenova in him and was showered with mako? :/
I'm also a little unclear about the whole sephiroth thing...Was he just in the crater for 5 years or something? AND WHAT THE FUCK IS JENOVA? AND HOW DID CLOUD KILL SEPHIROTH IN THAT REACTOR?

Please, just gimme kind of a timeline of cloud and sephiroth's roles in the game.

Cloud left Nibelheim to join SOLDIER. He didn't make it, but Zack did. Then they had a mission in Nibelheim, where Zack and Cloud joined Sephiroth. Sephiroth learned of his origins, and went nuts. Cloud killed Sephiroth, and his body fell into the lifestream (and settled in the North Crater).

Meanwhile, Cloud and Zack were "apprehended" and infused with Jenova. Cloud ended up getting all messed up from it, but Zack was not (possibly due to the Mako exposure). They escaped, only to have Zack killed, and Cloud left for dead. He took Zack's sword, and crawled to Midgar.

His own shame and his fucked up state caused him to take on part of Zack's life in his own mind. He made himself believe he was in Soldier the whole time. He put himself in Zack's place.

So Tifa never knew Cloud actually was at Nibelheim, but she knew Zack was. She knew Cloud put himself in Zack's place for some reason, and she thought that maybe this Cloud was a clone or something. She didn't really know what to say or how to say it, so she just didn't say anything.

Jenova wasn't an Ancient. He/She/It was just a destructive force.

then your a foolish, foolish child. ff7 owned all. but i loved 6, if you mean 6 in the sense with kefka (i can never keep track of all those), cause it had a real epic feel to it

what system was 6 on i never rember it. i only remeber playin 1 2 and 3 on nes and snes then going straight to ff7. :(

2 and 3 for SNES in the USA are 4 and 6 respectively in Japan.

We ARE, considering the games have all been re-released (with the exception of FF3j) with the correct numbering.
