Terry Gilliam movies seem to be very expensive and hard to find like
Baron von Munchausen, Time Bandits and Brazil (special edition Criterion edition for Brazil is $100 canadian)

I just wondered if you had any inside info on if these can be aquired less expensively? and if there is any history on why they are so difficult to find and so expensive.

I have no secrets. I just bought them. Brazil was expensive, yes, but i just bought it. I did buy Time Bandits from deepdiscountdvd.com; that was the cheapest I could find it.

There is a new version of Time Bandits on DVD by Anchor Bay, and it's supposed to be better than the criterion one, but the difference is that they couldn't get the rights to use Gilliam's audio commentary from the Criterion release. So there's that.

I do not own Adventures of Baron Munchausen. It's been years since I've seen it :(

Ah-ha young vagabond! You need to venture forth and purchase the dvd with the Baron's so many Adventures.

You ain't going to find them movies in the Walmart Discount Bin. :(

My friend bought Baron Munchausen at Fry's Electronics for like $20 a year so ago. That doesn't seem too outrageously priced for buying it in person. I didn't think it was Gilliam's best work though. :/
