AChimp That's probably from The Sweet Hereafter. Royal has a hard-on for artsy films.

AChimp Ian Holm played Bilbo, you crazy Dutchman.

FS I for one was overjoyed to hear this. Even if the Hobbit is a little more cutesy than LotR, that says nothing about its quality (Labyrinth, Willow, anyone?), and there's many things I'd like to see on the big screen... namely Smaug. Also, I'd very much like to John Rhys-Davies back as a dwarf (Gloin would probably be suitable, considering he's Gimli's father). I wonder if Ian McDiarmid would be up to the physical aspect of the role if he'd be cast as Bilbo again... but they could apply the same make-up they used for the brief "flashback" scene at the start of Fellowship of the Ring.

Trolls, treasures, dragon, spiders, bear-man, goblins, Gollum's first show - yessir, I have high hopes for this.

Supafly345 I wish I could be excited about this, but I found the Hobbit very boring. Listening to all the descriptions of every person Bilbo met really didn't satisfy my reading needs.

Snatchtastic
.

Yep, but Gwahir king of the Eagles is sent off by gandalf to go save Sam and Frodo at the cracks of doom from the persuing Nazguul. So my guess is that they will have it slapped in.
Dec 9th, 2003 12:17 AM
AChimp There was already an eagle in the LotR movies.

Snatchtastic

And not to mention the Eagles that whoops ass. I hope the add the Eagles in Return of the King.

Anonymous I guess we'll never know for sure.
Dec 8th, 2003 11:35 PM
AChimp Yeah, and the Mirkwood elves are all evil and shit.

Ihach boogie, i love you like a brother ive never spoken to before, but dont bash the battle of 5 armies. i mean, it had 5 goddamn armies in it! it had to be good!
Dec 8th, 2003 10:18 PM
Anonymous Pff, that doesn't count. The main character gets knocked out and wakes up after the battle. Weak.
Dec 8th, 2003 09:38 PM
Ihach Battle of 5 Armies
Dec 8th, 2003 09:31 PM
Anonymous That, and it didn't have any big battles to speak of.
Dec 8th, 2003 09:26 PM
Emu I actually enjoyed The Hobbit more than the LotR books. Probably because it's shorter and less boring.
Dec 8th, 2003 07:00 PM
Gåte I am starting the count down :/
Dec 8th, 2003 04:58 PM
HickMan I had a feeling this would happen. If it does, let's just hope it'll be at least half as good as Lord of the Rings.
