Nick I've never even knew this movie existed. I suppose I need to go watch it.

Autrach Sejanoz I've seen most of the Peanuts movies, but none of them compare to this one.

Max, you never cease to amaze me with your analysis of the Peanuts series. I swear, you need to write an essay about it.

mbkerr Anyone who says children's cartoons are just mindless entertainment need to watch this. My brother and I were practically raised on Peanuts cartoons. While our favorite will most likely be "Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown," I remember watching this one all the time. And we didn't get bored during the Schroeder sequences, either.

Copper I do recall seeing this one as a child, though the memories of it are pretty hazy (except the final spelling bee.) *pauses* *ponders* Y'know, I was actually just thinking about this movie the other day. I don't know why I was (maybe I saw the Christmas Special at work) but I remember thinking about the "Beagle" scene and Snoopy jumping up and down in the chair.

And, to Dragon: Holy Crap, yes! That movie actually *scared* me as a kid! "Keep away from the Bastille!" Yikes!

McFly I think that the Peanuts clan should have a blanket intervention or support group to help Linus cope. However, having the blanket away for long periods may make him believe he is seeing the great pumpkin or prompt him to spout yet another Christmas soliloquy.

Relaxing Dragon I honestly can't remember if I've seen this one or not, which is weird since I hold the peanuts movies very close to my heart. And I'm all for the bleak stuff, so I should definitely give this one a look (so I can at least finish reading your review).

Also, as I recall the one where they go to France had some dark parts (or at least some spooky parts that scared me when I was a kid).

Icculus Thanks to this movie I will always know how to spell neighbor.

This was on FoxFamily this past weekend. I almost pooped myself because I hadn't seen it on T.V. in years and my copy is on Beta.

OxBlood I love those earlier Peanuts-Movies, sadly they almost never show them anymore over here.

The Mighty Pinto I loved this movie so much as a child that I actually wore out my old VHS copy, forcing me to hunt it down on DVD. I love it because Schulz doesn't sugar-coat anything; unlike most children's fare that tries to put the false idea in kids' heads that "if you believe, you can do ANYTHING!" That's bullshit. I'm 26 and I'm still not an astronaut...so I watch this movie to console myself. It's also the most Psychedelic of all the Peanuts movies I've seen; just check out the National Anthem scene, or the part where Schroeder's playing Beethoven's Piano Sonata #8 in C Minor op.13

Doctor_Who I must have had a good dozen Peanuts specials and movies taped when I was a kid. This was definitely one of the best, second only to "I got a rock" in my book.
