Tadao Shhhhhhh, but yeah.

LordSappington The ending definitely got me by surprise. Seriously, complete 180 for a Clint Eastwood character.

Tadao If only Jonathan could have such a role model.

Dimnos So what you are saying is that its a story about a pussy ass kid who has to get a decrepit old man to fight his battles for him?

executioneer maybe you need to quit being such a heeb

Ant10708 Maybe you should stop being such a pussy and learn how to laugh at old white racist men and their highly inappropriate comments. You clearly never met an old timer in real life exactly like the one clint eastwood was portraying or you would of loved it. He played his part near perfect.
Jan 14th, 2009 10:41 PM
executioneer the only part about this movie was how he went overboard driving home the point that the old dude was totally racist, OK WE GET IT HES RACIST YOU DONT HAVE TO HAVE HIM SAY A RACISM IN EVERY SENTENCE GUYS SHUT UP ALREADY

When he goes, I think it will be the end of an era of cinema.
I've heard that this will be his last film as an actor, and if it is...what a way to go.

J. Tithonus Pednaud It's actually funny as The Wrestler and Gran Torino are sort of similar in themes, most notably old-timer-types trying to make good, but end on different notes. Almost complete opposite notes - selfishness and selflessness.

Mockery Yeah, Rourke was awesome in The Wrestler, no doubt about it... but as far as the story itself goes, it wasn't anything new really.

J. Tithonus Pednaud This was indeed an awesome movie. Best I've seen in awhile. It's a shame that Eastwood is getting so long in the tooth though. I think he's the last director of his generation and caliber still creating quality stuff. When he goes, I think it will be the end of an era of cinema.

My first car was a Gran Torino I bought for 100 bucks.

I saw The Wrestler yesterday as well. It was alright, not nearly as good as I'd heard. Pretty 'paint by numbers' actually.

Ant10708 This was a great movie. I laughed so hard the first hour. I love the clint eastwood old man facial expressions of disgust

so happy i picked this movie to see on xmas over all the others

WhiteRat Just finished watching this. I definitely didn't expect it to be that great but damn was I surprised. The dialogue had me laughing quite a few times. This is definitely a must watch.

Supafly345 FUCK YEAH. This is the movie we've been asking for all these years. Keep all the academy award winning crap that he loves so much, while treating us to some classic Clint Eastwood TOUGHEST MAN ALIVE ass kicking.
The best part was how well they actually made it work.

That's in my top 5 best films that I've ever seen... ever. Amazingly moving film. It's just a shame Flags of our Fathers was kinda' dull.

Though I'm defiantly going to keep an eye on Clint's directing career after LFIJ.
