I'm in it moreso for the drinking, good commercials and comradery that goes along with it.

El Blanco That was pretty good.

I've got some friends coming over Sunday and one of them is a huge, obnoxious Steelers fan. So, I'm cheering for The Buzzsaw That Is The Arizona Cardinals.

MattJack I hate the Steelers and I felt that the officials gave them the SB last time they were there.

I hate Big Ben, I hate Pittsburgh as a town, and most of all I hate that bla*k mother fuc*er WESLEY SNIPES

Either you got that reference or you didn't

Colonel Flagg Plus, isn't Bill Bidwill about 80 years old or something? His team should win the Super Bowl before he croaks.

I want you to be right. I mean come on, "The Steelers win the Super Bowl" yet again? We've seen this result before, about 5 times already, it's old.

But here's hoping I am wrong.

10,000 Volt Ghost I'd like to see the Cardinals win because they haven't yet. I wouldn't mind seeing the steelers win because Pittsburgh is okay with me.

Offtopic but The Rockies are the only baseball team I'll watch. I'll bring this to the baseball thread though.

Colonel Flagg I can't believe I'm saying this ....

Go Cards.
Jan 19th, 2009 08:21 AM
McClain As much as I wanted to see Baltimore make the Superbowl, I'm kinda' glad they didn't because they're a snooze to watch.

I'll get great satisfaction if the Steelers lose. I'll be wiping my ass with a terrible towel for weeks!

I gotcha, bro. I had been reading/hearing the same thing over the course of the week, and I was thinking, "the worst playoff team ever" would not make it to this round. The Cardinals proved they were legit the 30 minutes into the Divisional round game. Without Boldin, on the East Coast, etc. etc., they were whooping the Panthers. Yeah, no way they are or were the worst anything ever.

Colonel Flagg I am so fucking disgusted right now.

Fly Eagles Fly - underachieving bastards.

I'll feel better by the first minicamp, though.

On a sidenote, Tomlin has a chance to be the third former Viking coordinator to win a Super Bowl since the days of Denny Green.

pac-man Kurt Warner is a beast. I think he punched his ticket to the hall of fame this season. Not necessarily 1st ballot, but certainly a HOFer. The Cards weren't the worst playoff team ever; they just sat on their hands once they clinched the NFC West. They were a great postseason team, and hopefully they'll give us a show on Feb. 1.

Never expected the Ravens to get this far, but kudos to them for doing so. As I sit here in my Flacco jersey and Ravens cap, I know that the future is bright in B-more (thankfully so, as we'll have to sit through another Orioles season before we see Joe Cool again). The Steelers were just the better team today. Better coaching, better play, everything. Hat's off to them, and here's to some awesome Super Bowl commercials!

Officiating. It's been my running theme, and again today, shitty, shitty, shitty officiating. Roughing the kicker? Pardon me sir, but they didn't even touch one another. Kickoff in bounds/out of bounds not a reviewable play? News to me. Helmet-to-helmet hits, holds, and just some all around bad calls by refs in both games. I can't say today that the refs cost or won anybody the game, but that doesn't excuse their sub-par performance, especially when the best officials are supposed to be working this round. Before any discussion occurs on rule changes, overtime, or anything else, the NFL needs to address the fact that the officiating sucks. You don't see it (at least not as blatantly) at the collegiate level, so why is it so prevalent in the NFL? Full-time officials.

I like the Steelers over the Cards. The Steel Curtain feel over the NFL this season. Kurt Warner can't pass off of his back, though he looked great against Dawkins and Samuels today. Boldin and Fitzgerald will have to be huge, because James, Hightower, and company aren't likely to give them much help against the Pittsburgh front four. Big Ben vs. Old Kurt should be a helluva match though, as both are looking down the barrel at tough corners, safeties, and rushers-- again! I'm rooting for the commercials, but this game does have potential to entertain.

How does Eagles vs. Ravens sound for Super Bowl XLIV, Colonel Flagg?
Jan 18th, 2009 06:24 PM
WhiteRat The Cardinals let the Eagles climb back into it, but "worst playoff team ever" just won the NFC Championship.

I'm still amazed that Kurt Warner can still play at a high level.

Sam LET'S GO RAVENS!

Wow.... poor me (being a Browns fan) having to stomach a Ravens Steelers AFC championship. I don't know who to hope loses, it would be like watching a fight between Rosie O'Donnel and Michael Moore to the death...

Guess I could pray for meteors
