CONSPIRACY! CONSPIRACY! I seem to remember five other journalists having died in Baghdad before, but it's a little vague. I guess they were either British or of other non-American nationalities, then. |

"Atlantic" editor at learge killed in Iraq Middle East - AP First U.S. Journalist Killed in Iraq War By JONATHAN D. SALANT, Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON - Michael Kelly, editor-at-large for The Atlantic Monthly, was killed while on assignment covering the war in Iraq . He is the first American journalist to die in the conflict. There are as yet few details. It was a humvee accident. Were I paranoid I might point out he is the most liberal journalist there, the most openly critical olf the administration. I might point out that the most liberal and openly critical senator, Paul Wellstone also died in an 'accident'. But that's just paranoid. Those kind of conspiracy theories should be shelved next to the Vince Foster Murder. |
