OxBlood Good game, nice fights but too many guns and not as scary as the first one. Still playing it on hard right now.

Nick I'm going to wait until the price drops down to $20.00, it's the only reasonable thing to do.

Roggs Yeah, this game is definitely more about the creepiness than the scares. All the same, I've never experienced a scarier couple of minutes than the, shall we say, "Dick Butkus" sequence in the first part of the lodge level.

Those things at least qualify as "unsettling."
In terms of scares, I'd have to say that the original has more. There are some in the sequel where they try to scare you as in the original, but the scares are mostly confined to a few dream sequences. Plus, since you eventually learn more about what's going on, there isn't that fear of the unknown factor that the original had.

Mutant weirdoes still abound, and the mannequins appear briefly in one scene that seems more like a tribute to the original than anything else.

And the dead birds are still around, but you learn fairly early why they're dead, and it simply becomes a matter of going after the cause.

scribo Are you going to review the original Condemned?

incognit000 I loved the first one, but yes, it's not all that scary, and it's so short. I really wanna play this one, but I really don't wanna pay full price for it. I got Condemned 1 used for twenty bucks and I still feel like I paid too much, considering I unlocked almost every achievement within 8 hours of purchase.

Dr. Boogie Saying that one level is a lodge doesn't spoil that much, CC.

Creepy-critters SPOILER

The level in the lodge felt surprisingly like playing F.E.A.R., what with the running and gunning around inside

/SPOILER

It felt like they tried to incorporate too many FPS elements into the game itself
