I learned my lesson by buying an Xbox over PS2. I got Halo and JSRF ( ) but I missed Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Katamari, Onimusha, Metal Gear, Ace Combat, Virtua Fighter 4... the list just keeps going. I'm also gonna miss Soul Calibur 3, and many more. I have a feeling I'll buy a PS3 to play the PS2 games and all the other good games I know they'll get. |

Nintendo gains 10 points in the best looking round, and backward compatibility abilities adds 50. Sony loses 100 points for the controller and the "going for emo" look |

XBox 360 has been confirmed to be backwards-compatible with at least the most popular games in the XBox's library. And it's also confirmed that XBox 360 will be getting Final Fantasy XI, for anybody that cares about that. http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.j...technologyNews |

It's probably not for split-screen, but for stuff like the wrestling games and whatnot. The controller is probably either a lethal weapon or a boomerang, I'm excited to see which. |

ziggytrix | it's strange because computers are binary. 7 != n^2. i mean i've heard of 4 player games, and Nintendo is pushing 8 player games, but 7? WTF?

well true, but why 7? seems odd. edit: kind of a stupid post considering 7 doesn't seem odd it IS odd. i don't know math |

i'm witholding judgement til more details come. i'm guessing there's no dual shock in the new ps3 controller tho, since that would be a big drain on a wireless device's battery and they can just blame the lawsuit. anybody know? |

The new PS looks like it belongs in Michael Jackson's Scream video :o And the controller it comes with looks like something you get from Mad Katz for $2 only to realize it was $2 too much. |

Emu | The next-gen Nintendo must be friggin' tiny. Unless the chick holding it has small hands.

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050516/sfm178.html?.v=2 Also, if you direct your attention to Gamespot, they have a few videos and screenshots of various games and tech demos. The majority (if not all), are rendered in real time, meaning this is technically what actual gameplay will look like on the PS3. It is worth mentioning that games MIGHT not look this good right away though (memory and data space will be used up by actual gameplay mechanics, so not as much room or time to refine the graphics that much). Just look at how the PS2 games looked at launch, and how they look now. RE4, Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War are prime examples of showing how the graphical limits of the PS2 aren't easily reached. So while the PS3 launch games MAY not look as good as these demos let on, they will eventually. Also, Final Fantasy 7 fans, there is a tech demo of FF7's FMV intro on the PS3. Except it's been completely redone with the graphic style of Advent Children, and it's rendered in real-time. http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/fina...vii/media.html |
