Cockpuncher was kind of funny. The rest of this movie was horribly unfunny. Half the jokes went no where, and the rest of them they flogged until you sat there wondering what was going on. I don't understand what the point of the subplot was, either... It seemed out of place and like a rip-off of that other news movie that I can't think of right now. |

The trailer looked really good. Are the bits hit or miss the entire time? Watched it last night, kinda meh. |

The Onion Movie I watched this Sunday Night. If it was Direct-to-DVD, I figured it would be either A.) An underrated gem that tested poorly among idiotic audiences or B.) Absolute Shit. I liked the fake Britney Spears, The Michael Bolton "What About the Children?" sketch, and the Steven Segal "Cockpuncher" sketch was funny the first couple of times. Overall, however, I came away a little disappointed. You just can't have an Onion movie without Smoove B, Jackie Harvey, and Herbert Kornfeld. After reading The Onion Movie's Wikipedia entry, I discovered that the people behind The Onion had more or less disowned it, not surprisingly. Fans of Rodney Dangerfield might enjoy seeing this, if only because this was his final movie appearance. Otherwise, proceed with caution! |
