10,000 Volt Ghost You should have hit him with something.

Kilgore Cod Some friends of mine held a gathering of drunken metal hordes last Saturday. I've been telling these people for months about how awesome Beyond Hell is and I finally supplied them with a burn. Their jaws dropped!

"What is this? That's awesome!"

"Gwar, dude."

"This is Gwar?!?!?"

Even the most critical bastard of the group was asking me for a copy of it.

Then I had a mini-argument with a friend about the band name's proper pronounciation. He called them "G-War" and I kept telling him that he's wrong.

What a fun night.

Skulhedface It amazed me to no end that GWAR has been around here TWICE in the last 12 months. I wore the same shirt to both shows (beyond ruined, now).

And as far as I can say, GWAR hit a low point with We Kill Everything but picked it all right the fuck back up. War Party is fucking awesome, just slightly less better than Scumdogs. I haven't heard Beyond Hell yet, but I can't wait.

Angryhydralisk I need to scan the pics of the last one I went to. I looked like a blue pirate with swollen lips.

10,000 Volt Ghost

Taken right after the last GWAR show I went to. My skin is normally the color of bleach in the sun.

Zomboid They were pretty damn awesome :O

Kilgore Cod I wanna see Gwar sooooo bad! I fucking worshiped their last album too.

Angryhydralisk Is that DBX dvd any good? I've been wanting to get it for a while, but have been either broke or skeptical.

Dixie DBE is best live.
Especially when he sings Hitler's favorite Bob Seger song.
Dec 11th, 2008 03:01 PM
10,000 Volt Ghost I liked Beyond Hell. From seeing them live for the past 8 years the best shows were during Beyond Hell tours.

seesawbooy I appreciate the suggestions. Should I check out Dave Brockie Experience as well? I like the weird and hillarious songs the best

Angryhydralisk Scumdogs is their best period. But next I'd recommend War Party, America Must Be Destroyed, Live From Mt. Fuji, or Hell-O! if you're into punk. The other albums are fine if you're liking it too much. But avoid We Kill Everything and Carnival of Chaos, and maybe even Beyond Hell. That albums like the second beginning of the end for GWAR.

seesawbooy I just began to listen to them and I like what I hear. I'm on track five of Scumdogs of the Universe. Which album would you suggest I get next?

Zomboid 37 bucks is fuck all, though. If I were just going to a bar, I'd spend at least twice that. This way, I won't because the booze is always overpriced at these things, so I'll just get drunk beforehand.

You will have fun.
They came out of nowhere the 20th, so 2 years in a row out of five times to see them I've missed.

Plus 37 bucks for GWAR is too much. Even wityh Sleazy P. Martini on the lineup.

10,000 Volt Ghost I didn't even bother seeing either opening band. Pregamed and listened to some old River City Rebels back when they were good.

bigtimecow the music might be alright, but i can't get past jamie jasta's beaten to death lyrics about vengeance, family, not backing down, standing your ground, etc.

it might just be a qualm i have with hardcore bands in general, but hatebreed is holding the torch
Oct 19th, 2008 04:23 PM
MetalMilitia Hatebreed are awesome live. Hardcore kids can be annoying but the music is brilliant.
Oct 19th, 2008 03:10 PM
bigtimecow oh yes. that show just played around here for the "rock and shock" fest. i didn't go though

from the pictures i saw kingdom of sorrow looked like some gay hardcore punk band though

at least it isn't hatebreed
Oct 19th, 2008 01:59 PM
Zomboid Kingdom of Sorrow and Toxic something are gonna be there too. Ticket was like 37 bucks.
Oct 19th, 2008 12:51 PM
bigtimecow i've seen them 2 (or 3?) times and it was fantastic. the first time i got covered in red, blue, and green blood. i still have the shirt, dried and on my wall

10,000 Volt Ghost Just got back from GWAR last week. They used more red than any other color this year. Also, no Saddam A Go Go

The last two years were way better.

Sam LUCKY DICK.
Oct 18th, 2008 03:15 PM
Dixie I stopped going to their shows when they started charging more than $5.
You will have fun.
