Jomb It's kind of tough to discuss a song when you dont know the name of the song or the artist.

Dr. V Basically songs you've heard in various places, know the lyrics or the way it sounds yet ironically don't know the title or artist's name.

JediScum I'm still confused, Doc. Are you talking about songs that a person liked and band/title eluded them for years, only to be suddenly revealed one day? Or are you talking about songs where the band/title is still unknown?

By the way, if you like "Powerhouse", there is a CD called "The Carl Stalling Project". I've had a copy on cassette for years. Carl Stalling, I think, orchestrated the music for Looney Tunes back in the late 40's and through the 50's.

There was a song I heard in the movie "Daredevil" that I really liked. Tried reading the credits after the film, but the print was too small. Soon, I would hear this band on the radio and I would think, "That's the band on the Daredevil soundtrack". It drove me nuts. After two years, the radio station slipped up and actually said their name... Evanescence.
So I went to Target (the closest thing to an actual record store to me) and found an album by them that had the song off the movie.

Then two weeks later, I found out there was a GODDAMN VIDEO by the band on my DVD as a special feature.

Songs you know but don't know the title

It occurred to me that there's a lot of songs out there that I know well, but for some reason don't know the title of or artist's name. So I thought it would be fun to look them up and get the names. Most of them come from t.v. but some are songs that my local rock station plays but for some reason never announces the artist, like I should already know it. So I'm gonna name a few.

Face to Face - Disconnected

Violent Femmes -Kiss Off

I realize these songs are somewhat popular, but hey, I'm 22 and when they came out I was just a kid.

Some from t.v. and cartoons

The Sabre Dance: This is that generic circus music that's some times played on cartoons.

Powerhouse - Raymond Scott.
Raymond Scott's music is widely used in Loony Toons and Ren And Stimpy.
Here's Powerhouse.

And Dinner Music, another not so widely used one.

Anyone else have any songs they know like this?
