JJ_Maniac I had this bug. I went to a software store, and they told me it had something to do with a new registry on DVD's that the older version of Win didn't support. They gave me a CD with a sort of "patch" on it, and mine's worked ever since. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact details.

WinDVD crashing

I've been using an old version of WinDVD (3.1, specifically) to play DVDs on my computer. It's worked just fine for months, but recently, it's begun crashing a second or two after it starts playing a DVD. Even stranger, it will player stuff like the FBI warning with no problem.

I can still play DVDs in other DVD programs, so I know it's not the drive going bad. Anybody know about this stuff?
