It literally is the strangest game I've ever played but I loved every second of it.

stevetothepast magic sword for snes. It's a great game that is always overlooked, so you can find it cheap on ebay.

Wiffles Yeah I played Sudden strike, it was great, but wasnt that tactically involving IMO. Still I thought that was more fun compared to BK. I must admit the later iterations of BK ie stalingrad got very drawn out and tedious. But I like the tactical aspect of it
Plus I never saw another RTS that portrayed urban warfare so well ^^

Zhukov Hey Wiffles, did you ever play the Sudden Strike series? It was similar, but I think I liked it better.

DougClayton4231 Shadowman and Illbleed for the dreamcast, two scary ass games, one american and the other japanese. If any of you can get your hands on either, I'd highly recommend it.

Babs KISS Pyscho Circus for Dreamcast.

Wiffles The first was OK. But I found the engine quite not up there yet. The best engine IMO was BK Stalingrad, your units have longer vision range, and the infantry can actually stand up against tanks and not get mowed down. They actually last quite a great deal since they use the terrain for their advantage. And enemy counter artillery barrages arent as accurate which means being caught in an artillery strike wont fully decimate your units ^.^

Then again, your artillery isnt that accurate either so you cant win battles with artillery like in the previous games, which means you have to engage the enemy. Which is cool because you have to strategize ^^

Zhukov I only ever played the first, it was fantastic though. Man, there are a lot of games getting mentioned that I wish I still knew where they were.

Wiffles I always thought the first Blitzkrieg games were the most underrated RTS's ever. My fave was BK Stalingrad

Guitar Woman I hate not being able to see anything, but it really doesn't hinder you that much.

I'm really in it to blow shit up. There is a lot of that.

Zhukov Yeah, I heard a lot of people bagging out Doom 3 for being too dark and boring, but I honestly found the darkness rather scary, in a not that scary because it's a damn game sort of way.
Sep 11th, 2009 10:19 PM
Guitar Woman Ok, Doom 3 is more fun than I first thought

Chojin they made a third SOF game?

Mad Melvin Soldier Of Fortune 3 (or SOF: Payback).

Terrible acting, awful plot, over the top gore, suicidal AI, racism and embarassing puns. It's like playing some cheesy action flick from the 80's. Not a great game, but I secretly enjoyed it all the way through.

It requires a couple of small mods to improve the single player (iron sights, a few new guns and some gore tweaking), but I strongly recommend it, if camp humor is your thing.

Wow I actually agree with Pancakes on something. I dont know about EVER played but it was freaking awesome and probably the best RPG on the NES.

King Hadas Parasite Eve 2 - Parasite Eve is under appreciated because of lame writing, frustratingly swampy movement through low-quality pre-rendered backgrounds and the meshing of the two genres is uneven, less SquareRPG and more Survival horror please. Parasite Eve 2 is under appreciated because it's attached to Parasite Eve. You can just skip the first one if you'd like but the second one is not to be missed. It's easily one of the best games on the PSX.

Babs Gun Nac, Shatterhand, and Crystalis for NES. I remember seeing these games just not getting the attention they should have during their time. Crystalis in my opinion is one of the best RPG's I have ever played, making Zelda seem a little less inferior (no offense to the green tunic wearing bitch ass protagonist).

Zhukov Eh, well I thought it was underrated. I hadn't heard of it before I bought it, and never heard of it again after that. But I was the only one in my village with a N64, so...

Plus, I loved it. There was so much to do; racing, flying, cutting off and collecting peoples heads, and yeah, awesome co-op.
Sep 9th, 2009 04:57 PM
Fathom Zero I loved it. I loved the exploration and the cool co-op feature that my friend and I discovered by accident.
Sep 9th, 2009 04:27 PM
stevetothepast I think it sucks as well, but everyone I used to know with an N64 had a hard on for that game for some reason.
