Generator86 I don't care if you've ever seen the movie, or have seen it 100 times, but "Orgazmo" is still my favourite movie of all time.

Also, to sound like a total dork, either of the Harry Potter movies are alright.

Royal Tenenbaum "anything by Jerry Bruckenheimer"

I still give those guys credit for The Rock. It was a pretty solid action film, especially since it had Ed Harris who is always great.

Protoclown Good action movies = Die Hard, Aliens, The Terminator

Crappy action movies, but still enjoyable if thought of as comedies = XXX, The Transporter, anything by Jerry Bruckenheimer

See the difference here is that the top three movies, while not exactly "thinking man's films" don't REQUIRE you to turn off your brain to accept what's going on. The bottom three examples do, or else you're just going to find them too hilarious to take seriously. There is nothing funny about the first three examples that isn't intentionally meant to be.

Royal Tenenbaum "Holy shit, was the french movie were kids bring up sexual abuse accusations on their dad? or some shit like that....I saw that a long time ago....and I remeber it being hilarious. i am a sick disturbed person though."

It's Danish. And it is funny in a fucked up way.

Ninjavenom Oh shit my secret is out

Where's your car, dude?
Apr 18th, 2003 02:02 AM
Zomboid Ok, there's a difference between action movies and shit. If you want action that doesn't involve "I wanna be a ninja!" style fights, get one of the old ahnuld movies or aliens. Predator kicks total ass and commando's another classic ahnuld movie.

I'll agree with proto though, shit like xxx is incredibly fun to laugh at. I saw it with a few friends and that's all we did. There's enough make fun of in there to last hours.

James Agreed. Ninjavenom revealed too much.

It's like guys talking about how they jerk off, and one of them says he has his dog lick peanut butter off his nuts. Too far, man. Just too far.

cenamalo my friend told me that i should get themes for each day. but of course they have to have alliteration in the names. all i got so far is

Mel Brooks Monday
Three Stooges Thursday (we have 13 one-hour long tapes of them)
Silent Bob Saturday (but i've seen them all so much i don't know if i will again) :/

Ninjavenom Yes, i will admit that i liked Dude, Where's My Car? . :rebel
Apr 17th, 2003 11:37 PM
Geggy If you rent every Friday the 13th films, Nightmare on Elm Street films and the first three Halloween, you'll have 20 movies.

punkgrrrlie10 Yay, fun movies

I like to not be so much of a movie snob that it keeps me from enjoying stupid movies and being entertained b/c that's what movies are supposed to do. Yes, those are alot of stupid movies but they are fun and for some people, a break from thinking is nice

And honestly, I don't see much difference from Transporter and almost every single other cheesy action flick I've ever seen.
Apr 17th, 2003 06:45 PM
Ninjavenom The Transporter was not at all meant to be a realistic movie. It was an Action movie. I.e. a movie containing scenes involving action, so as to keep the audience interested. I'm the same way about some movies, but The Transporter for me was just a fun movie to watch, not something that irked me like a bug in my ass. :/

The_Rorschach Blood Dolls. It's worth seeing just for the chick band locked in the cage.
Apr 17th, 2003 05:59 PM
James Holy shit, I'm gonna have top watch that movie now.

But, it better not be unrealistic fighting like they had in every Jet Li film. Otherwise, instead of laughing, I'll be turning the fucking movie off.
Apr 17th, 2003 05:52 PM
Protoclown I hate James Bond.

"The Transporter" was crappy, but I have to admit I enjoyed it on a certain level. The same way I enjoyed "XXX" in fact. To me, those aren't action movies so much as comedies and the fight scenes make me laugh uncontrollably. I love that outrageously unrealistic shit like the oil fight in the Transporter or the part where he's like holding off three guys with one arm and kicking people on the other side of him, that sort of shit.

I like Jason Statham, but I don't think that kind of movie is right for him at ALL.
Apr 17th, 2003 03:52 PM
Zomboid ...Holy shit. I'm seriously shocked right now that not one, but two people like those fucking shit fests.
