AChimp I'm sure there are some pills that can make it go away.

Or... You could just say fuck it all and let things happen as they will. I've learned to do that after only two years of university. If I won't get that assignment finished on time, well... fuck it. I'll hand in what I've got, take my bruises and try to learn from my experiences to see what I can do better next time.

Now, I realize that that attitude won't cut it in a work environment, but a lot of companies have facilities/programs for stress, etc.

If it's your family that's causing the stress, stop seeing them. Worked for my parents and half my relatives. :/

Anonymous a panic attack is like fright or flight response, but there are other freaky symptoms you can get with one

and you that haven't ever had one are right you wouldn't know one if you got it because generally the first time you have one you truely believe you are dying and go to the emergency room

Ihach as ive been led to believe, panic attacks are a result of an overdose of andreniline in the blood stream. For me, i need a bit for that to work its way out, then im fine. I cant imagine what a two day one would feel like. Good luck man

Ninjavenom Hey noob, switch to water for a few days. It'll whiten 'em right back up. I'm just as addicted to coke.

Hobo Renee I had a panic attack that lasted the entire month of february last year.

no joke. what helped me was drinking water and juices, along with house work type stuff just to get my mind off of stuff.

Evil Robot Is a panic attack anything like that "sinking" feeling in the stomach? Like when it feels like all your innards get shifted up for a second after hitting a bumb in a car?
Feb 3rd, 2003 07:15 PM
noob3 I'm addicted to caffiene, I drink 6-12 cans of Coke a day. But Coffee is gross.

My teeth are yellow. :/

Protoclown I wouldn't know a panic attack if it bit me in the ass.

BT, I hope everything calms down for you.

mburbank Do you sense that I-mock as a reserach cohort has a passing familiarity with Panic?

As to what started it. It is perfectly normal to have gay thoughts, even if you are not %100 gay. You may be just, say %72 gay with certain gay leanings beyond the initial %72 percent if the circumstances were right, or if you were drunk, or if you just felt like it. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

noob3 I've never had an attack, and I don't even think I know what they are. :/
Feb 3rd, 2003 02:38 PM
Anonymous caffeine

um yeah. if you want it to stop cut that shite out.
You can have a panic attack for extended periods of time, or several attacks so close together it seems like a giant non ending one. It can last a damn long time, but is really bad for your health so you better do something to make it stop very soon. If you can't get it to stop get your butt to the dr's

glowbelly STOP DRINKING CAFFEINE RIGHT THIS INSTANT.

Buffalo Tom I'm at work right now, because I can't afford to take time off, and I'd rather be doing something that takes my mind off it a bit, instead of being paranoid at home.

Sleep has eluded me. Because sleep has eluded me and I'm working, I've been downing caffeine-filled liquids regularly, which can't be good for my nerves right now.

As to the source of the my panic, well, I'd rather not go into it.

I'm going to crash before the day is out, I know it. I think I'm going to go home.
Feb 3rd, 2003 02:28 PM
glowbelly get in the shower, lie down, put the shower curtain across your face so you don't get splashed with water in your eyes and RELAX.

that's the only thing that works for me.

well, there's one more thing that works, but it's not a good idea to do that anymore.
Feb 3rd, 2003 02:27 PM
mburbank What have you been doing while this has been going on?

Was there a thought or source that started this?

Hows your sleep? Are you eating?
Feb 3rd, 2003 02:25 PM
Buffalo Tom It's now 2 days + 1 hour, give or take a few seconds. I think it must be bad, if I remember the exact time this apprehension started to beset me.
Feb 3rd, 2003 02:04 PM
mburbank I know there's one for hicupping.

really long anxiety attacks are the hallmark of greatness. I hope that's of some comfort.

Physical exertion is a good way to chase them naughty 'ol blues away.

Jixby Phillips I know, this new message board is exciting

Buffalo Tom
Calm blue ocean

Is there a Guinness record for the longest anxiety attack? 'Cuz, I'm having one that's been going on for 2 days straight right now.
