Klara It's Alive - I never even saw the movie, just the ad on TV used to freak me out. The Amityville horror because it was based on a "true" story.
Also, Magic - I hate puppets.

Supafly345 Yoda always scared me, much more than Vader or the Emperor.

In the superman with Richard Pryor, in the scene where that fat woman gets pulled into the weird machine and turns into a robot scared the living hell out of me. I always had to leave the room and wait till someone told me it was over.

blackdog A bunch of horror movies scared me as a kid, everything from Child's Play to Friday the 13th.

What really stuck with me though, was Animal Farm. And it was a fughing cartoon at that. I dunno, something about animated blood was just creepier back then.

Girl Drink Drunk In a way, I think horror movies should be more important towards kids, considering how it would take a lot more to scare an adult. Kids dont take heed of bad acting and whatnot, anyways.

Zomboid Goosebumps always sucked ass. Are of Afraid of the Dark scared the shit outta me sometimes though.

Also, when I was a kid just looking at some of the nightmare on elm street vhs covers creeped me out.

Girl Drink Drunk The part where E.T. and Eliot (or whoever the protagonist was) met each other and started screaming. At the time I never wanted to see that movie again. I had not seen many horror movies as a kid, but Cujo scared the hell outta me. Although this counts as a TV show, I thought Are you Afraid of the Dark, and Goosebumps were pretty scary (sigh......)

Fuck. Where the hell did I get the idea that Stephen King wrote it? My bad. But Stand By Me is great.

King Hadas Stephen King didn't write The Thing.

Mad Melvin Stand By Me and The Thing are my favourite adaptations.

sadie "the shining" movie added the whole hedge maze; that was awesome. but the black guy dies whereas he didn't in the book; i felt cheated about that.

i think "shawshank redemption" is the best stephen king adaptation.

fetusman yea the ending was pretty lame, but now when i watch the movie i'm depressed for a good 5 minutes

but the shining will always be the best stephen king adaption ever

Mad Melvin Pet Sematary is better than most Stephen King adaptations. Some of the actors are kinda wooden and the ending is gay, but there are some creepy scenes and a zombie baby with a scalpel.

sadie my twelve-year-old watched "pet sematary" with his dad last week and didn't want to sleep alone for two nights. last night when a storm blew threw and knocked the power out, he was like, "is the basement door locked? gage might be down there." this is the first time he's been scared from anything like that, period. i don't remember the movie being scary, though i do recall that the ending was cheesy. the book's always better.

fetusman the shining and pet sematary scared me to death when i was younger

now i love the movies

sadie i'll have to say "the wizard of oz," too. every year, when it was on tv, i'd hide my eyes when i knew a wicked witch scene was coming up. and when i was about six, my family went to this land of oz theme park on a mountain somewhere in virginia or west virginia and i made my daddy carry me just about the whole time for fear of her.

Mr. Oysterhead Willow, The Labryinth and The Point were all terrifying in my memory. So was this other one with a dozen midgets and a kid who went around looking for something involving a rock that was pure evil. I can't remember what it was called though.

Ant10708 I was also afraid of Gremlins when I was younger. My dad would always want me to watch them with him because he loved the movies but those things freaked me out. I also was afriad of anything with Freddy in it.

Yeah- The Twilight Zone Movie

Holy shit, yeah! In the Twilight Zone movie at the beginning, when Dan Aykroyd turns into the monster and kills the other guy... HOLY SHIT THAT SCARED ME ! That actually still scares me to this day...

Master of Demise Pet Sematary freaked me out real bad. I couldn't sleep for almost a week after watching it because I was scared that fucking Pascow dude was going to come in my room.

This might also be my answer for the "First Time You Saw Movie Boobies" thread too, but it's been almost 20 years, so who knows LOL. :/
Yeah, that one got me too. I saw it when I was like 5-6 and I was too afraid to go into lakes for a couple years after that.
