The_Rorschach Actually, he's already completed the Six Million Dollar Man program, and has moved on to gathering an undead lawyer legion to topple the anti-American, anti-Bush terrorists over at http://www.whitehouse.org.

FS Isn't Cheney in a nuclear bunker somewhere in the center of the earth right now, getting outfitted with a robotic body so he'll be able to withstand nuclear and biological attacks (and live forever)?

CaptainBubba Hooray!

James Who said anything about Cheney? After Bush, he'd probably die of heart complications from having all that responsibility.
Mar 15th, 2003 02:07 PM
CaptainBubba Because we all know that Cheny would make such an excellent president.

Bush is probably the worst president in a long time, but its not like all the others in the last century have been gems. :/

I highly doubt the next president will act as if he were any less regal than the vicar of christ, his majesty Bush. When a president sets a precedent of attainable power, the following ones only take advantage of it.

Regardless of their party.

By being black, or by being stupid?

Anyway, it's no surprised that the poll shows that Bush isn't the favored candidate for another run. Hell, I'm sure people are begging for him to do something worthy of impeachment, so we don't have to wait until 2004 elections.

The man has single-handedly run this country into the ground. The way he's handling the situations with both "friendly and unfriendly" countries is basically the fastest way to alientate the US, aside from dropping bombs at random.

The_Rorschach Not to be a complete and utter asshole, but I do remember pointing out that Sharpton was more of a contender than people were giving him credit for a month or two ago. Personally, I think he stands to gain a good percentile of the Democratic vote.
Mar 15th, 2003 06:04 AM
FS Yeah, cause Al Sharpton is a PERFECT example of all dem damn liberals.
Mar 14th, 2003 10:24 PM
VinceZeb I put as much faith in that pole as I do in the Tooth Fairy. Considering Zogby did a poll that said the Democrats were going to sweep in the 2002 elections, I wouldnt put much into them.

I'd love to see Sharpton win. All he is doing is proving conseratives right about liberals: that they care about the minorities that vote for them and fight for their causes. Not a leftie, not a minority anymore. Just ask the court nominee Estrada.

mburbank He's got a serious 'wrong messenger' problem. I feel like he ends up discreditting valuable ideas just by having them come out of his mouth.
Mar 6th, 2003 08:31 PM
KevinTheOmnivore I don't disagree w/ Sharpton on many of his ideas, but I feel that he divides the Left to sharply on racial lines, which doesn't do any good if you really want a "multilateral" oppositional faction....

ItalianStereotype i wouldnt be surprised to see al sharpton being assassinated if he became president, he is just as bad as ranxer at his worst.
Mar 6th, 2003 03:28 PM
BombsBurstingInAir I would love to see Sharpton get the nomination. However, it is not likely. I don't think the dems take too kindly to African-Americans being in such high visibility in the party. I think they just take the African-American vote for granted.

I'm not a believer in polls, but where certin folks on this Board are constantly telling me how popular W is, I thought I'd throw this out for grins.

Poll Shows Bush Would Lose to Democrat in Election

NEW YORK (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) would lose narrowly to a Democratic Party candidate if the U.S. presidential election were held now because of concerns about possible war and the economy, according to an opinion poll published on Thursday.

The Feb. 26-March 3 nationwide survey of U.S. voters by Hamden, Connecticut-based Quinnipiac University found that by a 48 percent to 44 percent margin, voters would pick the as yet unknown candidate out of nine Democrats running over the Republican incumbent. The survey of 1,232 voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percent.

"This month, we find that an unnamed Democrat would edge out President Bush," said Quinnipiac University Polling Institute director Maurice Carroll.
