Kitsa I feel kind of ridiculous for posting in the Movies forum at all.

pac-man I would like to remake Last House on the Left by watching myself and almost immediately feeling ridiculous.
Mar 6th, 2009 06:35 PM
Tadao I would like to point out that I felt very silly for feeling all proud of myself by watching the new Last House on the Left trailer and knowing that it was a remake almost immediately.

Big Papa Goat I'd just like to point out in this thread that I felt kind of ridiculous for feeling all proud of myself for watching the new Last House on the Left preview and knowing that it was a remake almost right off the bat.

Kitsa truly. I'm all about Samara or whatever they called her that time.

Babs such a ripoff of the ring, NOW THAT'S A CLASSIC
Mar 5th, 2009 10:51 PM
Kitsa Yes, well, I'll be sitting out this whole circle-jerk because I'm not watching the remake, either.
Mar 5th, 2009 10:26 PM
J. Tithonus Pednaud It's obviously a rip off of Hilarious House of Frightenstein.

10,000 Volt Ghost My dad had a copy of the original on VHS when I was seven. Was right about to stick it in the VCR to check it out and he stopped me. Probably a good idea.

Dr. Boogie That's what my old boss used to say when he was about to rip off a bunch of stuff.
Mar 5th, 2009 06:50 PM
Kitsa There just aren't that many original stories out there. Everything's going to be a ripoff of something else and usually on multiple levels.

Nick I was going to be snobby about this film, but you guys beat me too it.

Babs It's to honor the aesthetics of the film. Brilliance, pure brilliance I say.
Mar 5th, 2009 03:10 PM
kahljorn whatever guys don't you know that architects reuse the same house designs with subtle differences
Mar 5th, 2009 02:47 PM
Mockery The Last House on the Left is a rip off of The First House on the Right.
Mar 5th, 2009 02:41 PM
Babs I would actually say that House on the Edge of the Park is a rip off of the original of Last House on the Left.
Mar 5th, 2009 02:24 PM
Tadao This read is a rip off of my 1992 thread about how the original was a rip off.
Mar 5th, 2009 02:22 PM
Big Papa Goat Also, it seems that the 'original' for The Others might have itself been an adaptation of The Turn of the Screw, which it seems was also quasi-remade in the recent "In a Dark Place". Fun facts!
Mar 5th, 2009 02:15 PM
Big Papa Goat I was looking at the imdb page for Jungfrukallan, and there was a link to a list of well known movies that were ripped off of lesser known movies. The Predator 'original' looks pretty good, although apparently it was never released on either VHS or DVD, so I can't imagine it would be possible to find =/

Kitsa Zomboid: zing!

There are a hell of a lot of "classics" I just don't give a fuck about. I'll admit that. My thing is Asian Extreme.

According to IMDB, Wes Craven based it on the 1960's movie Jungfrukällan
