New Cable TV idea: a la carte Anybody seen the story on USA Today Nov 30 2005? http://www.usatoday.com/money/indust...rte-sell_x.htm Basically, people are complaining that when they subscribe to Cable TV they get a bunch of channels that they never watch. So now they are considering charging for every channel. It might sound like a nice idea at first, but now I'm afraid of what this would do to children if this occured. Think about it, as a kid did you ever have to pay for any part of Cable TV? What if suddenly your parents signed up for only ABC, CBS, NBC, Lifetime, and HBO (for the Sopranos, but you can't watch it until you're older). How do you convince your parents to pay extra for (name of channel you watch that all parents hate)? What do you think about this individual channel idea? Would your parents have charged you for the channels you watched? |
