And other times it's gentle and beautiful, balanced and perfect, and very easy on the eyes. Have you never been hiking in barely touched forest and come upon a tranquil waterfall?

I'm not trying to say unity and rhythm are required, far from it. But anyone who says "All art is ____" is gonna get argument from me. I don't have any problem with your art style Helm, I think it's great - but it isn't all there is, and it isn't everyone's art.

Helm art shouldn't be more different or hard to look at than reality is. And that's quite a lot, at times. All this unity and rythm bulshit can suck a boston cock it's a completely arbiterate form derived from classical academia and 'golden ratio' bulshit.

yeah, real art should be different and hard to look at, like your eyes were sliced with a razor while swimming in saltwater. pussyfaggot.

Helm also, rythm? what the fuck? have you considered that giving equal attention to all these art-fag things actually homogenizes your art, and makes it too 'easy' to look at? visual art like elevator music

I'll be happy to tell you that you're going to very naturally disregard all these things to bigger or smaller degrees once your formal training is over.

ScruU2wice Actually no.

I had about 3 hours to work on these and I basically just took a bunch of digital picures of my face and tried to work them in photoshop to something that showed Balance, rythm, unity, emphasis, and contrast. I thought they were pretty good... :/

Photoshop stuff...

I was trying to get this stuff done before I had to turn in my AP portfolio, but I couldn't get them printed out.

I had to resize the first 2 in paint so the quality is better in the actual files.
