kahljorn I've been waiting for a robocop mockery, robocop is so ridiculous.

I watched one of them not too long ago but only managed to tune in to the end, here's what I saw:

Robocop looks fugly and is getting his ass beaten, but still manages to come back! Then a guy in a tower is moving this huge crane that i thought was a magnet so I was like, "Man robocops archrival he's fucked!" but it ended up being something full of garbage they dropped on him. If i was a bad guy I'd have thrown refridgerator magnets at robocop till he died instead of trying to shoot him or stab him with a sharpened pole. He's a fucking ROBOT cop.
Then his bitch picks up his gun and shoots one bullet into the crane control tower and it EXPLODES EVERYWHERE. So horrible, and robocampy is supposed to be "Serious"!
I think that's robocop 2.

then there's all the robots which i cant even begin to explain how horrible they look. They basically look like those claymation depictions of those robot dogs that were popular for a while.

NightOfTheLivingDon I don't know if I can back you up on the Tales From the Hood, but Bad Taste I can. I always thought it was better than Dead Alive, though I still love that movie, and, for me anyway, nothing can touch Meet the Feebles. My favorite epidsode of Are You Afraid of the Dark was the one with the x-ray glasses, when that girl sees Mummenschanz with the glasses she got from her black boyfriend. Pushing the envelope!! I also liked the one where that kid gets stuck in the mall and it turns out he's really in a pinball machine.

Listen, whether you like it or not, Death Race 3000 is being made. Now, at least Roger Corman is involved, and I personally naysaid the Dawn of the Dead remake which stands, along with its predecessor remake of Night of the Living Dead, as the best remake of all time. Who knows, it could be good! I think it will be...as long as its not Rollerball...ouch! And it goes with out saying that no one will be able to top Sly as Machine Gun Joe, but whatayagonnado?

Mockery Yeah, I can't say I like the idea of Death Race 3000. That movie just isn't meant for big budget. It was perfect the way it was. Stallone as Machine Gun Joe Viterbo? Forget about it! You can't top that.

What? You've gotta be shitting me. The very idea of a remake bothers me so much. There's no way they'd do it right

Grislygus Me, I likes this guy.

If J. Tithonus ever comes back, the three of us can talk horror 'till our brains burst.
Dec 15th, 2006 04:54 PM
NightOfTheLivingDon No.

I come from a long line of talkers. This translates online. Ergo, I'm the same annoying jackass online that I am in real life.

executioneer nightofthelivingdon are you getting paid by the line for this or something

NightOfTheLivingDon On the Roger Corman subject, I can't wait for Death Race 3000. Normally I'm against semi-sequel/remakes, but there are some movies that I can make exceptions for. Death Race, obviously, being one of them. Now, I've heard that Tom Cruise (who I could never fucking stand, even before his couch-jumping, scientology-wacko crap) was going to be in it. However, I've also heard Hugh Jackman. It seems that this could go either way, though I'm not the biggest Hugh Jackman fan. I'd take anyone before Tom Cruise. Carrot Top, Yahoo Serious, Sean Hayes...you get the picture.

Corman had that TV series for awhile, but I never saw it. I heard there was a Bucket of Blood episode. That's one of my favorite classics. If anyone's seen it, let me know if it's any good.

In response to Sadie: For some reason or another, I've always considered Altered States a horror movie. Mainly because Eddie Jessup fools around with some pretty frightening stuff. It tickles that bone that makes Indestructable Man and The Wasp Woman (there's Corman again) horror movies. There's just a lot more philosophy, metaphysics, and drug use in Altered States.

In response to deuce: Soon, there will be a third of everything.
Case in point: Three I Know What You Dids.
They'll make at least three of everything if they have to go back and pick up a series!
Case in point: The upcoming Creepshow 3. And they won't even leave the original alone! The same people are remaking the first Creepshow! AWFUL!!
While I'm on a bit of a rant, can I just say that Eli Roth needs to be stopped! Cabin Fever 2 are you fucking serious! Hostel 2? Break me off a piece of that Kit-Kat bar, for fuck's sake!! The man does two things (neither of which were very good. Hostel was okay, I guess, and I can't believe that Cabin Fever made it to the theaters. I've seen Lion's Gate STV's that were much better than that piece of shit) and he's just going to milk the shit out of it, and some how he get accolades. Anybody else watch the newest Top Horror Movies on AMC? Not only did CF make the list, but Hostel was #1? I'm insulted! Don't try to push that shit on me AMC! YOUR MONSTERFEST DIDN'T EVEN PLAY HALLOWEEN III!! What does the Pope have to say about this?

+0;-) - Roth is going to hell!

Thank you Benny!

+0;-) - Don't thank me, you are too!

Do I have to remind you of those photos I have, Ben? I think the parents of young Mr. DeFlippo would love to see...

+0:-( - Alright, alright! Your indulgence is in the mail.

Didn't those things get you guys in trouble once upon a time?

+0> :-| - Fucking Martin Luther! I'll get that bastard. I'll conjure his spirit and fuck his great-grandson!

Whoa whoa whoa there Benny! That's not very papel of you.

+0:-( - I'm sorry, I've just been so stressed out. It's Christmas time you know.

Yes, yes, the birth of Jesus. Must be an important time at Vatican City.

+0:-| - Yeah, this is the time of year when we have to tell all those priests to stop being so sloppy!

I don't want to know...

+0:-( - No, you don't.

Well, I've got to go now. You have a Happy Holiday!

+0> :-0 - It's Merry Christmas you godless heathen!!!

Merry Christmas then.

+0;-) - Thank you!

Piranha II was godawful. I loved the first one though. Mainly because you get to see the nice old dude sit at the end of the dock with his dog and the piranhas eat his feet, when he could've easily just pulled his legs in out of the water. Classic Corman.
Dec 14th, 2006 09:59 PM
sadie i've never thought of "altered states" as a horror movie.

NightOfTheLivingDon Now Ghoulies is an imp of a different color! That's some quality trash material! Critters as well. Leo DiCaprio got his film debut in the third one. It's funny how many people got there start in horror movies. Johnny Depp, Shannon Elizabeth, James Cameron's first feature-length was Piranha II (also featuring Mr. Henriksen), and William Hurt got his first starring role in Altered States...I might want to look into getting a life one of these days...

Dec 14th, 2006 02:24 PM
deuce There's a third one?!
Dec 14th, 2006 12:29 PM
Grislygus Heh... none of my friends made it through the third one either. 'Course, I'd already sat through all of the Ghoulies movies, so I have a high resistance to made-for-tv-movies trash.

NightOfTheLivingDon HA! Slugs in on here! Wow, I must have missed that one. I should watch that one again. I only saw it once...at college...needless to say I don't remember all of it. Another good one in that vein is Cronenberg's Shivers. Yeah, my Creeps DVD is a bootleg, too. Do they even have an official one?

You have got to see Spookies. I've been trying to get the DVD myself, but I can only seem to find damn Region 2s.

And to Grislygus, the second one was decent but I didn't even make it through the third. Not even Lance Henrikson saved that one. I always got House II mixed up with Waxwork until Bill Maher had his own show. They'll be showing House and House II back to back on AMC at like 1 in the morning on Dec. 22nd. I'll be watching.

On the USA topic, does anybody remember the Weird Science TV show? It was on after the university cop show and before Duckman. I believe that was after Up All Night gave way to Joe Bob Briggs, but I could be wrong. Another great movie Gilbert showed a couple times was Surf Nazis Must Die, that's a fucking classic!!
Dec 13th, 2006 05:53 PM
Grislygus I am absolutely shocked that anyone else remembers House. I've seen all three, I'll have you know.
Dec 13th, 2006 05:50 PM
Mockery NightOfTheLivingDon, there, now that I removed Lenor's crap, I can respond to your post.

The Stuff: an awesome movie. I actually own that one and have had a lot of requests for a review of it, so don't be surprised if you see one appear on I-Mockery sometime next year.

House: Saw some of this movie a long time ago, but never the whole way through, and I barely remember it. I'll check it out when I have the chance.

Don't Look in the Basement: Heard the name of this one, but never seen it before.

Night of the Creeps: Yes, out of all the horror movies to review, that one is atop my list. I have a bootlegged DVD of it (still can't believe it hasn't been officially released yet). If you like that movie, check out my review of SLUGS which is another campy flick along the same lines. But yes, you can definitely expect a review of this movie to appear on I-Mockery sometime.

Spookies: Never even heard of that one, but anybody who's a fan of Gilbert (and Rhonda) when they were on USA Up All Night is aok in my book, so I'll check into that flick for sure. Man, do I miss watching Up All Night... such a good show.

Newb is so insulting, how about neophyte or even greenhorn.

I found your site while researching Prince of Darkness for the horror movie club I run. It was John Carpentober, I showed them the Apocalypse Trilogy and They Live. All of your mockeries stood out to me because those where the same movies I rented when I was a kid! Anyway, I had a couple movies from my childhood/adolescent years I would love to see as mockeries, and not only that. These are some movies I think would make really good mockeries.

The Stuff - There are two reasons I could never take Law & Order serious. The first was Michael Moriarty after I saw The Stuff (and Troll incidentally, the movie in which he plays a character named Harry Potter, and Atreyu plays Harry Potter, Jr. And I would suggest Troll, but I'm sure you've heard that one before. Probably more for Troll 2. Please never do Troll 2. It wasn't good. It wasn't even so bad it was good. It just plain sucked the ass of a dead nun.) The second reason I don't watch Law & Order, I'd rather not talk about. Anyway, I went out of my way to find a video store that had The Stuff because it was the trailer on my dad's copy of Evil Dead 2 and it looked awesome. I peg this movie as being the first time I experienced really liking a movie because it was so bad. On a side note, writer/director Larry Cohen is also the man behind a couple other personal favorites Q and the first two It's Alive's

House - I was actually shocked when I didn't find this movie on the site. Richard Moll (fresh off his role as Mestema) continued his status as Senor Creepy in my head. The transition from maniacal wizard to gun-toting lunatic vet to the lovable Bull was much too much for my little brain to handle. That big fat zombie lady was fantastic! A great mockery moment would be when all the hands grab Cobb through the mirror!

Don't Look in the Basement - There used to be a time when you could drop the name of this movie, and not get the response; "Oh yeah, I got that in a $5 4-in-1 Horror Classic DVD." To which, I must admit, is the way I have it in DVD form. However, this was one that I rented numerous times because it was just so friggin' weird!

Night of the Creeps - This is another one I figured would be on here, what with the four page Monster Squad tribute and all. Sure it wasn't as good (and to tell you the truth I think that Slither nailed the idea better), but this movie has got some great moments that would be perfect for mockery. Like, say, when the metal-patient zombie bust out of the floor to hack up the sorority mom!

Spookies - While we're on the Monster Squad subject, another movie that I always believed to be similar is the aforementioned Spookies packed with various monsters and a great grim reaper skull slice scene! I'm guessing Gilbert Godfrey really liked this one! I accredit a lot of my horror movie knowledge to Up All Night and Monstervision.

Anyway, that's all. Just voicing my thoughts. Love the site.
