I'm a lady oddly enough, and married to the bass player of TTD.
:D

Edit:Vanhelm, if you dig the TTD they're playing at Volume 11 in Raleigh on May 23rd.

Master Some power metal is ok, I've only actually got albums by one band (Windir) and I rather enjoy them, so I'll probably start looking for some more in the near future.
Up until recently though, all my experiences with power metal have been pretty shit. There's a lot of crap out there, I just don't know the names of the bands/songs to stay away from so there'll probably be a hell of a lot of trial and error finding the decent stuff.

I honestly despise most bands that call themselves power metal at this point, it's just another buzz word now.

And I do like Helloween and Ramma Gay.

I'm agreeing with this man because his avatar is fucking Cronos.

MadballChibcha TTD is more of a Traditional/Heavy metal heritage, but yes it's still quite cool

Vanhelm13 May I suggest Twisted Tower Dire to any power metal fans here?
Apr 16th, 2008 01:40 PM
MadballChibcha Well, I dig quite a lot of Power Metal bands (Lost Horizon, Helloween, Gamma Ray, etc.)

That was "Grab Your Garvin", featuring Steve Grimmett from Grim Reaper.

Dixie I saw them (3 Inches of Blood) play not long before that all happened and they didn't do much for me at all. I had heard a few songs of theirs before but the 2 vocalist thing is really gay to me. Their performance was average and very forgettable, and I was actually sober through the entire show. They were nice enough people but sadly being friendly isn't enough for me to like a band's music.
I'm well aware they fired him, which was smart of the band to do, they might have faced a massive boycott in Europe for that. You don't fuck with Saxon.

10,000 Volt Ghost Yeah, I heard about the scuffle with Saxon, but they(3iob) kicked their drummer out afterword.

Justin Lee Collins is such a bear.

Girl Drink Drunk If it's any consulation (and in the band's defense), the 3 Inches drummer got roughed up worse, by security, than Nigel and he was fired. Anyways, it's nice to know that someone other than me and Lars Ulrich listens to Saxon.

Dixie Blind Guardian and Dragonforce make me want to watch man on man Lord of the Rings porn and laugh.

3 Inches of Blood? I absolutely refuse to support any band that has/had a member who picked a fight with someone in Saxon. Disrespectful bitches.

Fathom Zero Blind Guardian's Mirror Mirror makes me want to go have an adventure on the high seas.
Feb 24th, 2008 04:53 PM
shitty-pants Whats wrong with Dragonforce?

Sound great live and on their albums. Can't say they sounded any slower live when I saw them either. Weather they're Power Metal or not doesn't matter to me.

Seriously they don't have to be to everyones liking, nor do they have to be the best band in the world but they don't deserve the slating they get imo.
