aaaaanyway.
I'm making baked chicken and rice with roasted red pepper and garlic sauce. I loves me the hell out of some roasted red bell pepper...I do my own in the oven and save money. Just wash the pepper, pat it dry, cut it in half and remove the membrane and seeds, then put it facedown on a cookie sheet in an oven on broil. Take it out when the skin is blackened, then sweat it by sticking it in a bowl with some lemon juice and cover it with foil for a few minutes. The skin should peel right off, then you have lots of peppery goodness. I slice it and put it on sandwiches, puree it in a food processor with garlic and olive oil for a sauce. Hell, I eat it straight. |
Fried egg sandwiches and beer.

Nothing except a cup o' mud.
I WANNA EAT, GODAMMIT! |

It's a good thing People of Walmart is around to give me some visuals on that caller.

I caught a peanut butter melt on fire in the toaster oven, so I got to see what peanut butter flambe tasted like. The answer....not good. Kind of like a flame-broiled burger, when I was expecting warm, melty peanut butter.

Kitsa; I tried deep frying peanut butter once, and it turned out extremely wrong. Black tar was found on the kitchen roof months later and I have a small scar on my knuckle. |
Peanut butter is so good on warm toast, though. I thought there was nowhere to go but up; I was horribly wrong.

|
I'm back. That was delicious with orange soda.
|
Speaking of orange soda, I just had my last one poured over delicious vanilla ice cream.
|
Tried cheerwine today.
It was okay I guess. I think I would have preferred it in its krispy kreme format. |
Small doses.
|
Oatmeal Crisp cereal. Very good.
|
peanut butter / hot fudge milkshake
it's so fucking good but i'm pretty sure once i finish it my carotid artery is going to clog and i am going to die instantly |
I ate something that didn't sit well and am now miserable :(
|
Ham.
Pig is delicious. |
I only like bacon. Ham and pork are not that great.
I'm eating nothing right now, but I am going to go out and get something nice. Maybe fish and chips. |
I intensely dislike bacon.
|
You intensely dislike life. Bacon is the only good thing that comes from a pig.
|
Black forest ham is delicious. Bacon is good if its crispy. Truffles are pretty good.
I've been trying to cook more. Attempted to make Chicken Parmesan last night but forgot to bread the chicken first. The taste wasn't terrible but not very flavorful. |
I don't eat pork but the other day I saw a "turkey ham", as in ham somehow made of turkey, in a store and I was intrigued.
|
Truffles don't come from pigs... unless you count finding them as coming from.
This is what I ate: |
that looks a few steps up from fish and chips.

Bacon stands as everything wrong with food.
If pork was the Third Reich, Bacon would be Hitler. EDIT: And ham, apparently, would be the Jews, all of you being Bacon sympathizers. |

Love and Bacon then.
And truffles. |
bacon and ham both depend highly on how they are prepared and to a degree how they are cured
i've had terrible bacon and absolutely amazing ham |
I wish I could prepare you all my coconut rum pork chops, barbecued pork roast, seared pork belly and tawny port-glazed pork loin just so I could see you all fall to your knees and cry about what you've been missing out on, begging forgiveness from the Gods of all that is Porcine and Delicious
I mean FUCK, the only meat on God's Green Earth that is more succulent than pork (when well prepared) is a perfectly baked chicken (grill and rotissierie fanatics are full of shit, 375 degrees, an oven, and common sense beat both out everytime when it comes to chicken) |
Jajaja. PORK PORK PORK PORK
|
The heck with all you pork haters. More ham, bacon, pork chops, pulled pork, pork sausage, canadian bacon, and pork rinds for me
|
Beer and vitamins.
For my health. |

FOR YOUR WIIIIIIIIIIIIINE

Peanut Nor, :lol
I just got back from the best mexican restaurant in town, decided to be adventurous with the menu and regretted it :( Had my first alcohol in a very long time. My kid flirted with all the waiters. |

Can't even do that at the moment. When I get a chance, I might post the medical situation in Puke stories or the Science and Health thread.
|
Can't wait, MLE ...
Meanwhile, scarfing down the last of my pepperoni sticks that I purchased at the farmer's market in Lancaster last week. YUMMMMY! :yum Plus, I still have some Cajun and über-hot jerky from the same place. :picklehat |

Poached chicken breast in a sauce made with 4 tbsp fat-free cream cheese, broth from the poached chicken, italian herb & spice seasoning, and pepper. Nice and creamy, like an alfredo sauce. Calories 309 / fat 3g / carbs 4g / protein 60g |
I'm not feeling this one, mang. I'm not a cream cheese guy.
|
it just tastes like alfredo sauce. shit's nice

i'd have added a little hotsauce for some colour
|
that's an idea, would you recommend tabasco, smoked tabasco, or cholula?
cholula is my favorite |
sriracha :eek
|
Cajun wings from Wingstop. :yum
|
took willie's suggestion and added a little smoked tabasco. also halved the cream cheese content and used a larger chicken breast. the broth i've been boiling this in has been on the stove for 2-3 days now and i cook brussels sprouts and chicken in it, adding water each time but not dumping it. the bowl is covered when not in use. seems to add to flavor. new macros: kcal 332 | fat 3.41 | carbs 2.00 | protein 67.50 |
YOU could ALso TRY MAKING IT CURRYISH OR ADDING BASIL
IU DONT KNOW WHAT ThE NUTRITIONAL AND DIETARY RAMIFICATIONS OF USING COCONUT MILK (OR EVEN YOGURT) WOULD BE BUT ITD PROLLY BE PRETTY SIMILAR AND MAYBE BE MORE NutRTIONAL |
I've been experimenting with swapping out quinoa for brown rice and wholegrain english muffins for bread/crusts/etc with excellent results so far. Had chicken etoufee with quinoa for one meal, then used the leftovers for po boys on the english muffins.
I've also found out that wholegrain english muffins make omggood mini pizza crusts and sandwich buns. |
tastes better than rolled oats raw, but a lack of honey or anything on this is kinda killing me. |
That was a surprisingly interesting article. I was expecting TLDR.
I'm having the healthiest egg muffins I can muster...wholegrain toasted muffins (100 calories apiece), egg circles cut from an Egg Beaters omelet with a biscuit cutter, and Morningstar Farms veggie bacon. God, I love that stuff. |

Been doing that too :) For a long time.

:O
I make alfredo pizzas with a shitload of spinach every other day. Toss some leftover chicken on it and people think yer amazin'. |
homemade chicken satay with peanut sauce as spicy as I wanna make it, the last of my basmati rice, and stir-fried zucchini.
|
Inspired by Chojin's article, I bought a bag of steel-cut oats and tried those. I was tired and preoccupied and fucked them up several different ways, and they still kick the ass of the rolled oats we're used to.
|
Left over Red Thai Currie with pork and mixed veggies, MmmmMmm good.

I figured out how to make fried rice with a teaspoon of margarine.

thanks.
As an aside, try marinating very thin strips of chicken in greek yogurt before cooking. You'll have to watch as it will burn more easily, but the flavor is amazing. I routinely load the yogurt with hot sauce and/or spices for the marinade. Tonight I'm going to make some black bean quesadillas that I couldn't get enough of over the weekend. Very inexpensive to make and as good as mexican pizzas, but healthy. |
My GF like white plates too. We went to Jtown and Chinatown and there were all these beautiful dishes and serving trays, but she doesn't like how food looks on them.
I'LL HAVE TO FIX THAT |
Bitches needs to get used to the kitchen
|
I don't like a lot of decorated plates but I made an exception for the correlle ware with the palm fronds on them, because hell, some food is green anyway.
Also, I'm clumsy and break shit and correlleware is durable and light. |
Peanut M & M's.
Medium bag. |
apple cider dumped into an ice cream maker; let it go till it's a slush, it's delicious and not watered down like it would be if you made a slushie with ice.
|
I'm in love with Nature Valley peanut bars. So fucking good, goddamn.
|
They're fucking horrible, you shut your mouth.
|
I used to love the hard peanut butter ones, but now they just break my teeth so I've had to learn to live without them :(
