Okay, I don't think that one's endangered. I haven't found anything that says it is. Where do you live? I can probably figure out the subspecies.

Twist and Shout, John!

I live in central Kentucky. Also, I am actually helping the turtle because the kids here have a reputation of killing turtles. >:

I'm gonna give to my cousin on Monday, and he'll either take care of it, or give it to his grandma since she has a nice pond it can live at.

When you name it you get attached to it. IT WILL DIE. OR HAVE BABIES... somehow.

Call it Nigel.

I stand corrected. And your turtle is either the Midland or the Southern painted turtle.

Young eat mostly maggots, earthworms, insect larvae, and beetles; adults eat insects, snails, crayfish, and tadpoles. I suppose you can get the food you need for it at a pet store.

Make sure you wash your hands after you handle it, because they can carry salmonella.

There's got to be something inhumane about boxing a turtle ... and painting them couldn't be too good for 'em either.

Drev Apr 12th, 2004 07:03 PM

Ok, the turtle's gone now. :(

My cousin came over and took him with him. :(

Someone change the subject PLEASE. :(

Gurlugon Apr 12th, 2004 07:05 PM

How about we talk about how he's going to abuse it?

Oh.

Spastic Colon Apr 12th, 2004 07:26 PM

I owned a turtle once. My cousin and I shared it. We sold some crappy pictures we colored to our neighbors to save up some money for it. We ended up making like $20... which isn't bad considering the pictures sucked. I was in second grade then. We ended up naming it Tyler... though Dino was next in line. I think he's still alive now... :( damn things live for ever. Last time I saw him he was still in his fish tank on top of my cousin's dresser.
