So, why was everyone attacking me when I said all this stuff (over and over again) a long time ago?
|
I know right?
I blame guitar woman exclusively. |
Because when you were talking shit about it there were things on the Wii we cared about
|
Besides, it's not really the console itself that's the problem, it's the fact that nobody knows what the fuck they're supposed to do with it.
|
I had one briefly, but I wound up selling it because there were only a handful of games that I was interested in getting. It's been almost a year since, and there still aren't any new additions to that handful.
|
I bought the Wii on future potential. I've kind of reverted to my PS2 library now, upgrading it and playing through stuff I missed while picking up Wii games on occasion. In my case it's not the Wii's fault I don't play it very often--I doubt I'd be playing the 360 or PS3 much either.
For me it's more that a lot of the stuff I love is dying out. Rhythm games without actual instruments are pretty rare now and platform games have almost dried up completely. The Banjo series is moving toward vehicular customization or some shit, the Sly Cooper series is terrible after the first game, the Jak trilogy is over now and Mario games coming out once every seven years. The R&C games are about the only ones left and I hear the new ones are dull as hell. I can play Fallout 3 on my PC and I'm not interested in the new direction the Silent Hill games are going. The trend right now seems to be in first and third person shooters, games I've never really been all that excited about. Above all else, it seems like it's not that I'm necessarily bored with my Wii, I'm just bored with the industry. The only thing I'm truly excited for right now is the Pikmin makeover, what with the new game and the remake. Other than that, though... |
I haven't played the Wii in months. I'm tempted to sell it or trade it in towards a PS3.
|
One of these days the industry is going to crash horribly, and then from the rubble a post-apocalyptic society of indie developers will make new and interesting IPs that are about something other than gritty, heavily armored soldiers in gray and brown combat zones who throw grenades with the left trigger. Suda51 will be crowned the KING of this society.
That is my prophecy. I also blame Halo for everything. |
clearly
I wish Brawl had been released on the Gamecube minus the internet shit. I could really care less about it. (I still want to fight you guys though. <3) |
yeah, weren't we going to engage in climactic duels for honor and ladies
|
Tomorrow if you're up for it, bitch. >:

Yes, I'm putting down Killer7 and No More Heroes. |
YOU N*GGER
|
Also, what?
Killer7 had good enough gameplay, if a little off-beat, and the gameplay is the entire point of No More Heroes. |
The gameplay in No More Heroes sucked. I only played it for the silly storyline.
|
What Nick said. I liked the overworld better when it was called GTA, and I liked the combat better when it was called "Every other button masher ever". If it wasn't for the silly story, everyone would either hate it or forget about it like all the other generic "press the A button to win" games.
Plus, I think you like anything anime, GW, so stuff like "S4 League is fun" or "Suda51 will be king" are things that I take with a grain of salt... |
Suda's company makes some good games though. Contact for the DS was decent.
|
"Decent" doesn't get you the crown of video games, though :V
|
Oh fuck, go ahead and blame halo, gears of war, and the call of duty series for the wii having fuck all for games. The simple fact is, it's not a real gaming console. It's for nostalgia and people who aren't typical gamers.
|
![]() brb 50 Cent Bulletproof. Talk about a real video game. Videogames suck now. The colorful shit is stupid, the violent shit is stupid, and when's the last time you played a game that had new gameplay that wasn't copypasted from another game? The only one I can think of is Portal, and I accidentally beat it in a single sitting. The industry will collapse, then a new console or handheld or something will be popular. That, or indie gaming might save us from the ocean of filth that comes out now. Nintendo will go the way of Atari and develop software for whatever the new console is, Sony and Microsoft will go back to their day jobs, and a new era will start, just like in the 80's. |
MAYBE TAKING YOU OFF OF IGNORE WAS A MISTAKE
I like good games. Simple as that. I like shooters, but I don't limit myself to them. The 360 just has a lot of games that I enjoy. I'd play some computer games too if this thing were capable of running anything half decently. |
Video games about shit celebrities suck. Plenty of innovative games are still being made for just about every platform going... with the possible exception of the Wii which only features re-makes and shovelware.
|
I'm going to pre-empt whatever stupid point Guitar Woman is going to make next by saying this year was the year of Portal, Team Fortress 2 and countless other fantastic games.
None of which needed a queer motion sensitive remote control to distract you from the underlying crap gameplay. |
Name a PS3 or 360 game that fits that bill. Something innovative for either system, and bonus points if it's platform exclusive. Minus points for Orange Box games, since EA just took the PC version and shat them onto the consoles.
PC's the only platform that I'm seeing any real interesting stuff, and I need a huge paycheck to keep up with it all. I think we can all agree that PC games need to be compatible with more systems, yes? |
See my above post. The Orange Box was available on both platforms.
Added: Minus points for editing your post. |
