how is it that you only have 1500 posts in the last year? i see you all over the place all the fucking time jesus

Big McLargehuge Oct 21st, 2006 03:17 PM

Hey guys serious question. My girlfriend has been taking birth control for the last two weeks to ward of her period. I told her to "let it flow" lol but she is damning the mighty river. Can this make her sick?

kahljorn Oct 21st, 2006 03:33 PM

uh, theoretically yes. What do you mean by damning the flow? like with tampons? if she's leaving blood inside of her than yes, she can get sick. I think birth control pills make it so you don't bleed though, so anything beyond that would probably take a long time to manifest as a sickness. There are some side effects to birth control, though.

liquidstatik Oct 21st, 2006 03:41 PM

hey guys i think women are joking about that whole period thing

kahljorn Oct 21st, 2006 03:44 PM

I think you're the one who's joking! >:

Rez Oct 21st, 2006 06:21 PM

this is from the scattered information i remember my girlfriend telling me, whose mom is a doctor, so i'm no expert myself,

but apparently delaying one's period isnt really harmful, it may actually be beneficial to do so if you have anxiety problems and you're in a particularly bad space, because you dont need that BS right then.
but usually you can go for about 3-4 months without having a period. after that, the stuff inside that needs to slough off but has been building for all that time really needs to go. i didnt know if it's actually unhealthy to go longer than that or if it's just unadvisable, since when you finally do get your period, it would be a nasty one, but yeah, you can do that and it's totally fine.

hell, there's even birth control doctors prescribe so that you only have your period 3-4 times a year.

liquidstatik Oct 21st, 2006 06:25 PM

lol rez that was gross :x

if you think that's gross then you're not ready to have sex >:

guys need to know these things so that they have a better understanding of what's going on.
so that they dont end up saying stupid shit that'll get them clocked like "what, are you on your period or something?"

liquidstatik Oct 21st, 2006 06:31 PM

lolol i've had sex and it is gross.

its like putting me inside of someone else, and that's gross. and it smells gross. >:

but idk it feels good and its kind of fun to watch boobies flop around. :<

Esuohlim Oct 21st, 2006 07:38 PM

My deal with my girlfriend is that every time she periods all over my bedsheets she has to pay for laundry. >:

One time though I got a bloody nose in the middle of the night and I thought I could get a freebie, and I tried to argue my point but she saw right through me and the jig was up :x

Terra Oct 21st, 2006 09:56 PM

That's because the blood was at the top of the sheets and not in the middlegetacluenimrodandandbeniceand she might just cop to your cheat.

Long as your nice...

:)

Sethomas Oct 22nd, 2006 04:27 AM

I would imagine that delaying periods beyond the natural cycle would cause a statistical increase in cervical cancer.

Rez Oct 22nd, 2006 05:34 AM

yeah, well, so does not having kids your whole life >:
anyway:

That was obviously the point but it was worth a shot.

I believe I used the phrase "straddle my pillows", though. :/

I haven't had a period in over a year...AND I FUCKING LOVE IT! I'm on Depro-Vera (the birth control that comes with a syringe) and it's the best! No periods, no mood swings, none of the monthly symptoms at all! When I do finally have a period again it'll be like The Shining I'm sure...but it's so worth it right now!
