Brant Bjork & The Operators - My Ghettoblaster

Exhumed - Anatomy is Destiny

They're Austrian, and they play some of the fastest fucking BM i have ever heard. But here's the catcher, their new stuff has awesome production values. You can hear everything, one of the gripes i usually have against other BM bands. No symphonic edge or keyboards or anything, just old-school style BM with half death/black vocals. Sounds pretty generic, but if you listen to the track you'll know what i'm talking about. One of the best things about them is that they don't even take themselves seriously about it :O

oh, and Artillery - Khomaniac

Helm Dec 20th, 2004 03:07 PM

Dude that wasn't so good. Ok production yeah, but it didn't do anything for me. All I hear is snaresnaresnaresnaresillykeyboardoutofplacesolo Want to listen to some great black metal? Check out Weakling and their only album "Dead as Dreams". I can go on an on about this band and why they rule as much as they do.

Helmuth: heretic grunts, chainsaw
Sigurd: six-string terrorism
Barth: 4-string overdrive
Torturer: highspeed artillery

I swear it's not me.

Goohan, question. Since you're obviously Finnish, can you tell me whatever happened to the mighty Demilich?

Ninjavenom Dec 20th, 2004 04:31 PM

That's what you were supposed to hear. They're insanely fast, i didn't say they were very unique. Just goof production and fast drumwork.

Birthday Massacre - Happy Birthday

Helm Dec 20th, 2004 05:02 PM

Mr. Bungle - Mr. Nice Guy (demo) that I just stole from Ninjavenom. Man this demo is much better recorded than the album. Also some hilarious vocal bits like that 'DESTROYOYOYOYOYED' thing.

Sorry, never heard of them.

My Dying Bride - Your River

Helm Dec 21st, 2004 08:49 AM

Ah well you should. They're great. Keep the name in mind. The album was released on Necropolis and it can be moderately to difficult to track down online in soulseek or whatnot.

Primus - Greet the Sacred Crow

Ninjavenom Dec 21st, 2004 02:32 PM

Aye, are you on Soulseek, Goohan? You'd surely be interested in a large majority of Helm's collection and at least some of what i've got.

I'm currently absorbing something by Ungl'Unl'Rrlh'Chchch. After that comes Hirax, Gorgoroth, Weakling, and then The Germs.

Good stuff regarding Weakling, Helm. They must be In the Woods fans.

Anonymous Dec 21st, 2004 03:02 PM

I got SoulSeek, but I hardly ever use it.

Nick Drake - Road

Helm Dec 21st, 2004 03:29 PM

Weakling are fronted by a black metal know-it-all purist so I'd think more of a Burzum fan than an In The Woods... fan. Then again, Weakling had one guitarist from The Fucking Champs so how can you go wrong?

Gorguts - Obscura

and Mr. McGoohan, start using it more >:(

Ninjavenom Dec 21st, 2004 08:23 PM

Whatever it is, it sounds pretty good. I'm also down with this Keep of Kalessin stuff, as silly as the guys look. I mean, even for BM they look goofy. How do you feel about Zyklon?

Cosmo Electrolux Dec 21st, 2004 09:23 PM

At first I thought it might have been a mistake or a joke, but it does sound alot like Ween. It seems to be a bootleg, but the sound quality is quite good.

Transatlantic- In Held Twas

Zyklon are second-rate black-death metal nothing and I don't care to listen to them at all.

Kalessin are pretty good, for black metal, I agree.

Dead Kennedys - Forward to Death

Helm Dec 22nd, 2004 10:49 AM

Thergothon - Yet the Watchers Guard

TheBoogieman Dec 22nd, 2004 08:23 PM

I am listening to

Nasum - There's no Escape

Anonymous Dec 23rd, 2004 12:14 PM

Pantheïst - Don't Mourn

Helm Dec 23rd, 2004 12:18 PM

Didn't like Pantheist after all. The production is nooo

Dead Can Dance - Severance

The new version of soulseek made it impossible for me to browse Ninjavenom's files again, although I've sorted out all the port issues on the last version and was happily leeching from him for weeks. Upside he can at least now leech off of me. Bums me out a bit, though.
