I watched Ninja Cheerleaders starring George Takei

It is as bad and silly as you would expect it to be

kagemusha - normally war movies bore me to death. i didn't care for the battle scenes in this one (i never do), but the rest of the movie kept me interested enough to watch for nearly 3 hours.

the hidden blade - this one was boring throughout. it started to get all right near the end, but that's it. the end was awful.

I recorded that and my girlfriend found it on the dvr. She was just like "What the heck?"

Fathom Zero Nov 4th, 2010 01:57 PM

I like the color palette in Kagemusha.

Watching Rinne. I AM NOTICING A PATTERN HERE, SHIMIZU.

kurosawa's color movies are always great.

i'm excited because the netflix queue is just about to enter a set of like 6 kurosawa movies i've never seen. haha.

The Alienator.
What a hilariously bad movie. MST and Doc Mock were MADE for this sorta thing.

Kitsa Nov 7th, 2010 09:56 PM

Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

It started off slow and boring and with more of that dude's wang than I ever wanted to see. It got funnier about 3/4 of the way through but I noticed just about all of the funny was coming from Russell Brand.

I'm glad they got their shit together and came back with Get Him to the Greek, because that was way funnier.

Scott Pilgrim vs the world.

The movie glitched out when Jason Schwartzman killed michael cera and it wouldn't start up again. Best ending ever.

Iron Man 2

The defining moment for me was when 1.5 hours of building-up conflict was resolved by shooting a laser at a triangle for 5 seconds

Dimnos Nov 8th, 2010 11:28 AM

Both Iron Man movies have some nice special effects but thats about it. :(

Sherlock Holmes!

It was pretty good. I don't know much about the source material, but Holmes' ability to determine an encyclopedia entry's worth of knowledge from one or two mundane details is either awesome and believable or completely ludicrous depending on the situation.

Fantastic fist-fights. Like, McGoohan-tier.

10,000 Volt Ghost Nov 8th, 2010 02:04 PM

I really liked Sherlock Holmes. Did you watch the other Sherlock Holmes movie that came out last year?

Guitar Woman Nov 8th, 2010 02:13 PM

There were two? I was talking about the Guy Ritchie one.

10,000 Volt Ghost Nov 8th, 2010 04:47 PM

:lol Seriously

Guitar Woman Nov 8th, 2010 06:34 PM

Oh dear, that looks terribly awesome.

DID ROBERT DOWNEY JR. SHOOT A LASER AT A TRIANGLE?

Guitar Woman Nov 8th, 2010 07:43 PM

no, but he did beat up a french canadian giant with an electric tuning fork

speaking of which, the "meat and potatoes" fight is probably my favorite scene in the entire movie

kahljorn Nov 9th, 2010 03:01 AM

WATCHED, "THE VANISHING"

GOOD MOVIE BUT FUCK THAT.

*EDIT*
FUCK THAT.

Fathom Zero Nov 9th, 2010 05:26 AM

Mad Melvin Nov 9th, 2010 09:28 AM

It's not that bad on the depressing-scale. Savior, Eden Lake, Threads and Wickerman (the original, duh) are movies that are great, but I rather not watch them again.
