Any other time
ECW

I assume it has more to do with science fiction than other wrestling shows.

Tadao Oct 10th, 2008 07:50 PM

ECW is science fiction.

Dimnos Oct 13th, 2008 02:20 PM

Where is the science? I thought it was just fiction

pac-man Oct 13th, 2008 05:38 PM

The science of fiction.

Madface Oct 15th, 2008 12:35 AM

I can't believe I missed Ginger Snaps Back.

Sci-Fi channel is my bitch. My special bitch.

Cherry Nirvana Oct 15th, 2008 12:41 PM

Damn my lack of cable tv! I miss Sci-Fi...

Zomboid Oct 15th, 2008 08:29 PM

Fuck. I only have Space and Scream to combat the fact that I don't have the Sci-Fi channel. At least AMC is going all out again :(

This D&D movie feels like the played a dungeon and wrote the script about it. I kinda like it.

ZeldaQueen Oct 19th, 2008 11:09 PM

Hm. I LOVE the movies Sci-Fi plays. Except for those stupid "original" ones with names like "Killer Sheep" or "Dead Towns Don't Die". I kid you not, I used to think they made "Lake Placid".

Neen Oct 19th, 2008 11:31 PM

What are you talkin' 'bout? Those are the best ones. Or has your experience with MST3K been for naught?

Tadao Oct 20th, 2008 02:30 AM

Seriously, those are what make Saturdays so awesome.

Palmerholic Oct 20th, 2008 10:17 AM

I miss old Sci-Fi Channel and it's slowly making its way back. They've got the rights to show the Highlander series and they're adding Mork & Mindy to the line-up, which should be cool. Sci-Fi is also getting Medium and Ghost Whisperer.
I don't think I've liked an original SFC show since Farscape and everything else is a cheap dark remake of a campy 70s series or cheesy 90s pop corn flick.

Tadao, are you keeping track of how many times either James Caan or Lance Hendrickson are in Sci-fi movies this month? I want to know who's winning.

Tadao Oct 25th, 2008 05:25 PM

I'm winning!

Tadao Oct 25th, 2008 05:56 PM

Pumpkinhead is so fucking funny. I hope Rawhead Rex will be played soon.

10,000 Volt Ghost Oct 25th, 2008 06:08 PM

Hahahahaha, I love the beginning of Rawhead Rex where he invades the Irish trailer park. A bunch of Irish-men corner him and try and beat him up. Why doesn't that happen in other horror movies ever.

Tadao Jan 25th, 2009 08:02 PM

I just watched the worse SciFi movie yet.

BASILISK: THE SERPENT KING

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0760306/

This is a must see for any SciFi Channel Original Movie fan!

Grislygus Jan 26th, 2009 12:46 PM

Savage Planet was worse

I couldn't finish watching it

I couldn't finish watching it

Tadao Jan 26th, 2009 03:38 PM

Yeah, Planet Raptor was like that too. There is a super fine line on what is amusing and what wont hold my interest.

Dr. Boogie Jan 26th, 2009 04:58 PM

They canceled MST3K.

They're dead to me.

Wish I could've seen this one. It's been a few months since i've been able to sit down and enjoy a night of shitty SciFi originals. Maybe this weekend after the UFC fight I might just plop my tuckus down on the couch and soak up the crappiness of SciFi.

Tadao Jan 28th, 2009 12:58 PM

Looks like Saturday is gonna be dinosaurs and yeti! Yay!

Kilgore Cod Jan 31st, 2009 07:14 PM

If they were smart not only would they bring back MST3K, but also make a new series devoted solely to SciFi Original movies. In fact there'd be no point in showing those movies otherwise.

moonlightkisu Jan 31st, 2009 07:57 PM

I don't watch it that much. I remember the old days of Saturday Anime and "Hercules: the legendary journeys", though.

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 08:01 PM

Yes, please talk more about anime. I bet we would all love to hear about it, seeing as all of us love anime so much.

lolwut? no thanks, i'm not really a big fan of it anymore; I simply remember seeing those shows back in the day, around my teens.

Are you trying a little too hard to sound cool and or witty? if so, sarcasm fails you. Please try a little bit harder.

:)

Kitsa Jan 31st, 2009 08:22 PM

here we go

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 08:22 PM

Kitsa Jan 31st, 2009 08:25 PM

Tadao, you're a fucking Japanophile. I bet you practice self-love several times a day.

Shush, I'm flirting here.

LMFAO. Wow, this forum is serious bizzness.

I'm italian-american, quite happy with that, thankyou. Isn't a "japanophile" a cultureless nerd that is obssessed and infatuated with japanese culture and asians in general, and also usually has a very japan-ish sounding name?

But since this topic is about the SciFi Channel, and not making yourself look cool, i'll just assume you're really, really bored and don't really know what else to add, other than your blind blanket assumptions that don't really seem to serve you very well.

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 08:44 PM

Yes it is.

You fit that description perfectly.

I have 1 hour and 15 mins till Ice Spiders come on and my blanket of blindness keeps me warm at night.

Let's just cut to the chase and show me your tits.

Only if you show me yours first.

LOL fail for not actually visiting my actual profile, which isn't very japanese, unless you confuse asian culture with european culture:

maybe you could tell me what 'tadao' means .. it sounds rather japanish.

lol, nice picture though, love the man boobs

Interesting.

The profile itself is quite public, only the journal part is friends-only.

Quite mild, i'd say, compared to caucasian women who do this to their face.

Oh my. That is quite scary, even when asian people do it.

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 09:26 PM

Only the interesting ones are usually fake. Mine is actually quite boring and linear .. I have nothing really there except for basic facts

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 09:47 PM

Not really. It's just like one of their movies. A horrible plot and bad acting.

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 10:19 PM

KITSA! Ice spiders is totally gnarly dude! Vanessa Williams looks hawt too so I think I can watch it all they way through.

WhiteRat Feb 1st, 2009 01:10 AM

Wish I could watch but between UFC and Rock Band 2 i'm shit out of luck.

ZeldaQueen Feb 1st, 2009 12:03 PM

Erm, guilty of being a fan of some Japanese culture, as I've studied the language for about five or so years. So that's where your username came from Tadao!

And I walked in on my brother watching Ice Spiders last night. I instantly disowned him.

No, kidding. He warned me that I might not want to watch it, as I have a fear of spiders. As it turned out, the spiders were so fake looking that I had no fear of them (same as Aragog in the movie of Chamber of Secrets). I found it extremely amusing that one was electric green. What, did they paint it that color so that they could find it more easily?

Kitsa Feb 1st, 2009 01:21 PM

It was stupid shit like everything else on the sci-fi channel except for Tales from the Darkside.

I love it when people get pissed at me for not being Japanese.

Tales from the darkside had some of most freakiest shows. It was as if all the people who wrote the stories were on some really heavy drugs

Sorry if I've missed some backstory here, but why would they care?

And I personally think that Sci-Fi has warm tapioca for brains as they canceled MST3K. Why? From what I've seen of the fan base, there's definitely an audience. I find it very hard to believe that ratings were a problem...

Tadao Feb 2nd, 2009 10:26 PM

Maybe because Mike became a greedy fag and they had to cancel the contract?

ZeldaQueen Feb 3rd, 2009 08:41 PM

You're a Joel person, aren't you? :\

Apparently trouble came from the fact that it was two hours long and needed negotiations to get the films they watched in it.

Tadao Feb 3rd, 2009 08:43 PM

Or that you are reading Wikipedia.

Kitsa Feb 4th, 2009 12:50 PM

Ah, I see. For some weird reason, I associate online people with their avatars, if they have any. So basically, whenever I think of your username, a picture of your avatar comes to mind.

10,000 Volt Ghost Apr 10th, 2009 11:25 AM

There's going to be a Thor movie this saturday on SciFi that looks pretty out there. They should have premiered it on Thursday if you ask me though.

Tadao Apr 11th, 2009 03:06 PM

If anyone wants to see one of the best worst SciFi movies, Monster Ark is on at 5pm. Booze is suggested.

jason.cinema Jul 3rd, 2009 05:54 PM

(My apologies for posting this in a different thread yesterday. I didn't think to search for this thread. Sorry!)

Here's SCI FI/Syfy's new brand film to promote their *ahem* name change.

http://www.syfy.com/imaginegreater

A press release? I thought you'd never ask.

http://nbcumv.com/scifi/release_deta...uly7thbra.html

Maybe one day we'll get an actual science fiction channel that wears its devotion to the genre on its sleeve, like Canada's SPACE...

http://www.spacecast.com

For now, let's all take a trip down memory lane and see what The Sci-Fi Channel/SCI FI once stood for. Behold - the channel's schedules going all the way back to July 1994.

Ayup, but not kyaraben...I make up my own stuff. I don't have patience to reproduce some damn scene from Fullmetal Alchemist in nori shreds with freaking tweezers.

But I also make freeform stuff out of fruits and vegetables and modeling chocolate.

Tadao Jul 4th, 2009 02:49 AM

I love when SCIFI homo's take it all to seriously.

robo_rob Jul 6th, 2009 01:00 PM

Syfy sounds like a skin blemish.

Wish they'd show Tales From The Darkside, Monsters, Friday the 13th the series, Freddy's Nightmares, and Tales From The Crypt more regularly.

10,000 Volt Ghost Aug 29th, 2009 10:57 AM

I think Octopus 2 is on syfy right now but it's near the end. Hopefully it'll replay later today because this is one is pretty bad.

robo_rob Sep 3rd, 2009 01:23 PM

Oh man, Frankenfish is on next.

Tadao Sep 6th, 2009 08:18 PM

Yes and Yes!

BurntToShreds Sep 12th, 2009 11:04 PM

Has any one seen Warehouse 13? I think it's pretty good.

Tadao Sep 13th, 2009 12:33 AM

Yeah, I haven't seen it for a while now though. It reminds me of Friday the 13th the series in a good way.

DougClayton4231 Sep 13th, 2009 10:49 AM

Anyone seen Alien Vs Hunter. It's like AVP but a lot worse and with a $48.30 budget. I caught it midway through and lawled the night away.

10,000 Volt Ghost Sep 13th, 2009 12:10 PM

I've seen it at the store right next to Transmorphers and Snakes on a train.

I liked it for a one time viewing.

DougClayton4231 Sep 13th, 2009 02:08 PM

WTF is Transmorphers? Is Samuel L Jackson in Snakes On A Train? If so I will totally bootleg it for a 1 time viewing.

10,000 Volt Ghost Sep 13th, 2009 03:12 PM

Transmorphers is the garbage version that came out on DVD the same time Transformers did. Snakes on a train was really horrible. Just how when Ghost Ship came out Ghost Rig came out on DVD.

DougClayton4231 Sep 14th, 2009 06:19 PM

Blasphemy! I wonder if they made a knock-off of that GI Joe movie already?

robo_rob Oct 8th, 2009 10:21 PM

man, 31 Days Of Halloween has been pretty fun so far this year.

Tadao Oct 8th, 2009 10:48 PM

Freddy V Jason is on right now. I haven't caught anything all week really.

robo_rob Oct 8th, 2009 11:21 PM

We must have some crazy time difference. That was on earlier here, then a nifty show on possessions, and now one on ghost children.

Tadao Oct 8th, 2009 11:24 PM

Yeah, I'm PST. About 2 hours difference? Maybe 3 even. I gave up on F V J. I forgot how boring it was to me. I might check out the other 2 though.

robo_rob Oct 8th, 2009 11:37 PM

Yeah, it's 11:36 here in Atlanta. Eastern time I believe.

Yes, one is a fish, the other a reptile, but that’s the glory of the Saturday night creature feature. Hm, for Syfy’s next creation, how about they make a… Scorpicuda! Oh, how about a Tigersquid? Tadao Mar 25th, 2011 05:46 PM

Oh man, I can't wait. I noticed that Sharktopuss came out on dvd recently. I wonder if there is any commentary. :lol

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 26th, 2011 09:30 AM

I bet they just had a cast party for the showing of Shartopuss and just recorded the audio then put it in as a commentary track.

Speaking of which...I wonder how long we are away from using the recordings of people watching a film opening night as a 2ndary audio track. So when you're at home watching it on DVD/BLUERAY/NEWTHING it makes you feel like you're in a theater with a bunch of people watching it.
