what may be a silly question...
i'm well aware that most of the press is biased either one way or the other. my question is which news programs/publications tend to lean right or tend to lean left.
also, i know this question has been asked before, but is there any news source that seems to be unbiased? also, is that one website that lists all of the presidential candidates and has all thier info such as voting tendencies and their stands on "hot" issues a good starting point when trying to sort out who in the good gosh darn hell you are going to vote for this year? |

Mainstream comedy. If they aren't, they lose their audience.
|
Actually, as much as I love the Daily Show, you have to see the liberal bias in there, and they are as popular as they have ever been.
|
I don't think there is any such thing as totally unbiased media, but there are media sources that are less biased than others. Personally, I visit both liberal and conservative media sources to try get both views on an issue.
|
I tend to agree with Jeanette and believe that that's about the best you can do. I think it all amounts to choosing the lesser of the two evils anyway. There are no perfect candidates and/or platforms.

The New Republic = right Newsweek = right Time = right NPR = left of centre All of Fox News = right All of CNN = right MSNBC = right of centre Mother Jones = left Tikkun = left The Economist = right I buy most of your left-wing/liberal publications, though I'll read the Economist sometimes at the bookstore. Being a citizen of both Canada and the British Commonwealth, I get my news from the venerable CBC, and the BBC newscast (morning and supper hour), which are the last bastions of unbiased and thorough journalism in the English-speaking world, in my opinion. |
CNN and MSNBC right? If you say so...
BBC is hardly unbiased. |

What do you know? Just because BBC isn't as left as you are doesn't mean that they are not left of center.

Time, The New York Times, and CNN are generally associated with the leftist media, while The Wall Street Journal and Fox News tend to be right-leaning. If you want facts on Democratic candidates: Democratic Candidates |

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I never thought of Newsweek as Right. However, my Gov. teacher chooses the articles we read, and seeing as how he's fairly liberal, perhaps he picks the articles that comply with his views.

thank you, bt. you're the only one that answered my question. if anybody else has any more input, i'd greatly appreciate it.
otherwise, shut the heck up. >: |

Considering some of BT's information was inaccurate I wouldn't be thanking him to much. CNN on the right? ha

i didn't ask about democratic candidates only. i asked about that one website that lists all the candidates and if it's a good starting point to sift through all of the crap.
bt gave me a list. the rest of you just disagreed or agreed with his list. jeanette was completely useless by telling me what she does, like i give a care or something. i would go into the uselessness of kelly's statements, but i'm afraid that just by making this small comment i am being terribly redundant. |
Well I guess it is a matter of opinion but I mean I think most people feel CNN leans towards the left.
But for the record he never mentioned the word opinion. :) Alls fine. I agree with his list yet I feel that BBC is biased towards the left as well as CNN and MSNBC I'm from New York and we have Newsday over here and that leans towards the left. |
says you >:

Yes says me

generally, when someone asks for UNBIASED information, they don't pay attention to links that are described as "democratic candidates."
thanks for the link, anyways. |
Mainsteam American news sources (CNN, FOX News, MSNBC) are definitely slanted to the right at this point in time. It was blantantly obvious in the way they handled coverage of the protest marches during Iraqi Freedom.
|
it's blatantly obvious that you have failed to answer my questions
|
It's blatantly obvious that blatantly obvious is the most bombastic and redundant phrase I've ever read/heard.
|
do you have a list? no? didn't think so. :(

When I'm looking at porn on the Internet, I'm leftist because I still have to use the mouse. But, when it's on TV, I'm rightist because I can get more power that way. :(

if you practiced yoga, you could use your feet and use your hands for something else...like ramming the handle of a hairbrush up your ass or something....

Maybe this site will offer some more help. http://www.univox.com/writer/mediabias.html
That is if you are still interested. Hairbrush fantasies can wreck anyone's concentration. Maybe you were looking for examples of media bias. This site had a few examples. http://www.newsmax.com/hottopics/Media_Bias.shtml This site seemed helpful in the same way. http://www.mediaresearch.org/ Glowbelly's a girl? :confused |
GB is more than a girl. :lol
She's a really hot girl. >: |
I just thought that the search for an unbiased media source was pointless to begin with. Just seek some well respected sources of various political leanings (which I'm NOT going to list since you're being such a meanie), read between the lines, and form you're own opinion. THAT was the point which I was trying to make.
Ummm ... what was the question again. :/ |
why shouldn't anyone ever listen to anything kellychaos has to say?
|
Are you even registered with a party? Do you even attend caucauses? Looking for an unbiased source of info in the year of election is a bit like looking at TV commercials to judge the best product. You don't simply eat their spin. You have to think critically and look for actions and not words. Look at what the person has done in the past in the various arenas in which he has been a leader ... i.e. business, government, military, ect. Were his consituents, subordinates/junior executives, soldiers, ect happy with his leadership? What did he/she accomplish as opposed to what he/she promised? Again, critical thinking, reading between the lines and realizing what is said as well as what is NOT said about a person. I'm not trying to be patronizing but the way you phrased your question almost forces me into the patronization. I'm not sure what you were initially asking. Maybe it came out wrong and I misunderstood.

i'm gonna have to go with your last statement.

'K :)
