Hmm.

She kissed a guy recently who now has mono. She's got no symptoms but apparently it can take months to show itself. Here's a snip of our conversation.

********: I understand if you don't want to take any risks.

Pernthedog: I'm willing to assume a minor risk of two weeks of debilitating illness sometime in the next several months for the chance to kiss you again.

Am I romantic or what? ;)

GADZOOKS Jul 10th, 2004 08:52 PM

See that's why I always set it to stereo.

Perndog Jul 10th, 2004 09:24 PM

I actually laughed at that. I hate you.

AChimp Jul 11th, 2004 09:35 AM

For some reason, girls are incredibly resistant to mono. I have never heard of a girl getting it, but quite a few guys I know have had it.

I had it, too, although I escaped with a very mild case of it. The only symptom was the extreme tiredness for about a week, but the mono test came back positive, so WTF, eh? The doctor said he'd never seen anything like it before. ;)

Matt Harty Jul 11th, 2004 11:43 AM

I'd never risk any sickness for a female, they'd never do the same for you.

Since you already had the black death, it was unlikely the mono could any further injure you. :/

HickMan Jul 11th, 2004 06:26 PM

OH MY GOD! YOU'RE SUCH A DREAM BOAT! TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT!

HAR! No, this was the first one. :(

Incidentally, though, mono is like chickenpox. Once you catch it, you can never get sick from it again. ;)

Matt Harty Jul 11th, 2004 06:47 PM

But it can still hide in your throat and spread it to people after your healthy again. :lol

AChimp Jul 11th, 2004 06:51 PM

YOU BETTER HOPE I DON'T SNOG YOU. >:

Terra Jul 11th, 2004 08:25 PM

Skip the kiss.

Go for the fuck.

Your dick is immune to mono.

Perndog Jul 11th, 2004 09:38 PM

She doesn't have sex with her summer flings. :(

But she doesn't sleep with them either, and we slept together last week, so maybe I'm special. :)

AChimp Jul 11th, 2004 10:07 PM

Girls who have summer "flings" are extremely, extremely shallow.

Anonymous Jul 11th, 2004 10:35 PM

I see nothing but good things that can come of this.

Perndog Jul 11th, 2004 11:00 PM

Chimp, that's just your inner (outer?) virgin talking.

I have summer flings, too, because I like going out with pretty girls and I don't want to be abstinent for four months just because everyone's home for the summer. Does that make me extremely, extremely shallow, too, or is it okay for guys and not for girls?

Moron.

Oh, and I told her you said that and she now wants to kick you in the nuts. :)

Anonymous Jul 11th, 2004 11:06 PM

Nothing but blue skies and happy feelings for all.

Actually, once you find out that all females are moody bitches who make you miserable sooner or later, you'll have no problem being with a bunch of random hot girls with no emotions at all.

Same for the girls, since they already know we're all assholes.

Anonymous Jul 12th, 2004 08:19 AM

Matt Harty, since when did you become the most brilliant man on these boards :<

Matt Harty Jul 12th, 2004 08:37 AM

I didn't I just went out with alot of bitches. :(

What do you care? You're a Satanist. You're supposed to be prep'ing her for some ritual sacrifice.

PS. I think you are very shallow. :)

Royal Tenenbaum Jul 12th, 2004 03:47 PM

Summer flings without sex make no sense. What's the point? If the emotional attachment is lacking, then physical connection should be the main goal.

HickMan Jul 12th, 2004 04:12 PM

I made out with some hot Italian chick at camp and I forgot her name :(

i think you meant extremely, extremely skanky.

executioneer Jul 12th, 2004 10:41 PM

hitman would you please go into detail as to how skanky is not a subset of shallow and use proofs

You really have nothing better to do than tell your girl friend what Achimp said on the internet? So far I have never mentioned what I say or do on this site to my wife or kids because I'm ashamed to talk to any of you, and that's the way it should be, so go and kill her so she never know's what transpires in these secret and boring pieces of your inane, pasty faced life of a biography.

Perndog Jul 13th, 2004 10:56 AM

Unlike you, Fartin, I-Mockery does not constitute a portion of my real life, and anything that does or does not happen in this little online world has absolutely no bearing on my everyday existence. I have no qualms laughing among real friends for a moment about the ignorance of a lonely teenaged virgin whom I will never meet.

As far as having anything better to do...how long do you think it takes to speak one sentence? I'm not sure about you, but for those of us who actually have a respectable command of our native language, it's hard to regret the waste of those three seconds.

Pub Lover Jul 13th, 2004 11:16 AM

Oh no, Pern played the 'internet isn't real' card. :eek

What a jerk. >:

Mr. Vagiclean Jul 13th, 2004 06:49 PM

Perndog Jul 13th, 2004 07:14 PM

:lol

That was funny on so many levels.

The skull on my desk is resting on a hand, actually. You should fix that part.

AChimp Jul 13th, 2004 08:12 PM

Hmm... I will submit your suggestion to my artistic director for the sequel. :posh

Matt Harty Jul 14th, 2004 09:16 AM

Pub Lover Jul 14th, 2004 01:33 PM

:lol with Chimp.

Anonymous Jul 14th, 2004 01:56 PM

that was good ;<

Demogorgon Jul 14th, 2004 09:53 PM

I think vampires are immune to mono...
I got it really bad. All i could eat for 2 and a half weeks had to be very cold and very soft. Not to mention the lack of all energy and other effects. Miseable time. But right after I recovered (they said I could still pass it to others for a six month period) neither of my two girlfriends in the next six months got it (yes, kissing, I'll point it out before some intolerable moron does). But then again, I think I got it from a water-fountain... :/
