my buddy was talking to the bass player and he seemed like a nice guy, I like the fact they stay true to the originals, remixes are overated. you a-holes just hate them cause they are the trendiest band of nes music >:

I like their music, but the guys themselves are drunken fucks with no respect for anyone. Last time they played at MAGfest they got the police involved and at MAGfest 4 they're on 'hotel arrest' as soon as they start drinking. They've also never changed their lineup in about 4 years. They also (as you said) think 'remixes are overrated' and will tell this to anyone who will listen, but mostly to people who create remixes. Without remixes every NES band would be, uh, them. Which is to say, largely talentless with a ridiculous amount of practice.

and metroid metal are my favourite so far. I have been intending to record the shadow of the beast soundtrack in metal versions, inspired by them.

I saw a band called the Power Ups. Haven't listened to them on record but there was this great nostalgic/feelgood vibe in the club. So yeah, you should never miss a chance to see nintendo bands live.

Has anyone else listened to Temp Sound Solutions? They have some great original songs with an 8 bit metal feel.

I like 'em, but they could definitely be 50 times better. Get a real metal band to play the music from Castlevania without any mistakes and I'd be in heaven.

That Megaman 2 track is insane, anyone who doesnt get a boner while rocking out to that rack is a wimpie bisexual freakshow.

There was a track i heard a while ago with some very obnoxious trumpet in it. To be fair, though, i listened to all three of the mp3s, and it just made me want to listen to the originals. The songs weren't the least bit interesting. If they put some kind of twist instead of playing the songs note-for-note i might be a bit more inclined to care.

the minibosses never had a trumpet. unless it was a live recording, you got a bad tag....
