2009 NCAA Men's Basketball

College hoops are in full swing and with a record losing streak to start us off no less!

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketb...d=200811170459

Any thoughts on PSU being a part of this historic moment Colonel?

Colonel Flagg Nov 18th, 2008 11:35 PM

Meh. The Nits have never been really strong in mens hoops. Still, the Highlanders ... well, suffice it to say I had to reread the article to get their mascot right. :lol

McClain Nov 20th, 2008 11:46 AM

IU isn't looking too hot this year. Rebuilding and all. Looks like I'll still have PU and ND to root for. GOGO BIG 10.

WhiteRat Nov 21st, 2008 03:19 PM

Mighigan knocks off 4 UCLA. I must say I definitely didn't see that one coming.

Tubby Smith and his Golden Gophers have Colorado State this weekend. Here we go...4-0!

WhiteRat Nov 25th, 2008 08:56 PM

I know it's early but who wants in on the 2nd Annual I-Mockery Bracket Bunch?

Milhouse, R U E to defend your crown?

Colonel Flagg Nov 25th, 2008 10:04 PM

I'm in. :rock

pac-man Nov 25th, 2008 10:13 PM

We need to get the thread set up. Is Gadzooks doing the yahoo bracket then?

Pub Lover Nov 26th, 2008 02:09 PM

That's hilarious. I don't understand why Loyola's coach did it. He boasts about holding him scoreless, but the negative attention he's getting right now over it outweighs the attention he'd be getting if Curry had scored 30+(which is none, because no one gives a shit about Loyola.)

Colonel Flagg Nov 26th, 2008 04:15 PM

That's why some coaches will forever be second division.

"History Major"?? What was he thinking? :confused

WhiteRat Dec 9th, 2008 10:44 PM

Did anyone else see the Davidson/WV game tonight?

Curry is a monster. Dude hit two very late clutch 3's to put them over the Mountaineers. He missed his first 12 3's but knocked his last 3 and still managed to score 27.

WhiteRat Dec 20th, 2008 04:31 PM

Down goes Louisville as the 9th ranked Cards lose to Minnesota in Arizona today. The job that Tubby Smith has done at Minnesota is nothing short of amazing. Gophers are now 10-0 with a neutral site win against a top 10 team that starts two sure Lottery Picks.

Colonel Flagg Dec 21st, 2008 12:03 AM

Plus, the Gophers practically led wire-to-wire. Pretty amazing. They could break the rankings this week.

MailCall Dec 27th, 2008 05:52 AM

Once again the Big Ten is getting the toe up the arse. Two undefeated teams and eight with three losses or less--yet only one team(Purdue) in the top 10. Purdue ranks high because of its preseason position, despite the two losses to OK and Duke. Most of their starting rotation are sophomores, with star Hummel leading the pack. But this is not a great rebounding team--partially because of injuries. Minnesota and Ohio State are undefeated, the Gophers being ranked 23 with a win over #19 Louisville. The Bucks lost star David Lighty to a foot injury but keep on plugging. The team has beaten #8 Notre Dame as well as both Miami and Butler. The Spartans of MSU have two losses--one to the Terps and one against #1 NC. But they put down the Longhorns in Texas. Maybe all of this is immaterial, since North Carolina looks like Michael Myers.

Impressive, there are NBA players, considered among the all time best that have never reached that mark in a game.

WhiteRat Feb 3rd, 2009 11:04 PM

Kentucky just lost their third in a row tonight against Miss State. Billy Gillespie has been a stand-up job there.:lol

WhiteRat Feb 20th, 2009 06:24 PM

The tournament is drawing near...

March Madness! Bring it on!

Who will be setting up the "i-mockery bracket bunch" this year?

WhiteRat Feb 23rd, 2009 06:37 PM

If nobody objects, I'd like to set it up.

Colonel Flagg Feb 23rd, 2009 09:44 PM

Seconded.

pac-man Feb 23rd, 2009 11:05 PM

Thirded.

pac-man Feb 25th, 2009 02:28 AM

I'm totally gonna lose brackets this year. Things are too up in the air. Providence upsetting Pitt!? Maryland fresh off a win vs. UNC poised to upset its other ACC rival, which I'd love to see. Blake Griffin out indefinitely (costing OK a game against Kansas)... I get the feeling that it's going to be a wild and wooly tournament.

Another comeback win and the Gophers beat dirty Sconnie once again to complete the sweep this season. Somehow Sconnie went up by 5 with just a few minutes left after ONLY SCORING 16 points in the first half. Granted, we only scored 23, but c'mon.

As a bonus, enjoy this little ditty featuring Sconnie coach Bo Ryan aka the Grinch:

Colonel Flagg Mar 5th, 2009 04:56 AM

:lol

O/T, I'd love to see the same montage featuring Jerry Jones.

WhiteRat Mar 9th, 2009 07:54 PM

Big changes this year for the Tourney:

That'd be sweet cause then the Terps would make it. :(

Colonel Flagg Mar 9th, 2009 08:36 PM

Swarthmore! The Swarming Earthworms will "dig" out of the 4096th seed hole. :rock

Colonel Flagg Mar 15th, 2009 11:48 AM

Temple! The Owls are back!

On the other hand, Penn is down & out. :(
