I need some help

Ok so here go's. Alright I know iam a new guy and all but i need some advice and in my opinion some of the best advice comes from people you dont know.

So I had a girlfreind that I lived with for just about 2 years, we broke up in October. I stared seeing her agian in December just going out and shit like that. Yesterday she told me shes moving down to Tennese (I live in Michigan) and she told me that she wants to move down there by herself and start a new life. A few hours ago I was at her house practicly begging on my knees to take me back. Ive gave up alot to be with this girl in the past 2 years and Iam willing to give up everything else I have in Michigan to be with her. I can understand her reasons why she wants to do this, its realy a pride thing. She wants to prove to herself that she can support herself without any help. I told her Iam willing to quit my job to move there with her and a bunch of other heart wreanching things. So my problem here is should i realy try to get her back so we can start a new life toghter, or should I just say "fuck it, things were good while they lasted" and move on?

i advise you to finish what you started

Pub Lover Feb 12th, 2008 11:02 PM

Let her think she is moving by herself but secretly move in a couple of blocks from her new place, then periodically break into her house to read her diary & when she writes that she mises you, that is when you casually meet her at the grocery store.

saltshakermaniac Feb 12th, 2008 11:05 PM

funny thing is I actually thought about that.

Dixie Feb 13th, 2008 12:27 PM

Move on, she doesn't want you and it's over.

Dr. Boogie Feb 13th, 2008 12:56 PM

What she said.

She wants to start her life over, so what are the odds that she'll want to completely start over except for you? Don't scrap your whole life for some chick who's not interested.

Cosmo Electrolux Feb 13th, 2008 04:30 PM

besides, once she gets a look at the local Bubba's with their beer guts and pickup trucks that have a "Git 'er done" sticker across the windshield, you won't have a prayer...

Zomboid Feb 13th, 2008 04:32 PM

oh man. Now you're gonna have a horrible mental image of your gf riding some big fat hick in his pickup.

edit: And she might be all "ohhhhh yeeeeeah my boyfriend back home never used to do me this good". SO REALLY ANYTIME YOU BEG HER TO STAY, SHE'LL GET OFF ON IT THAT MUCH MORE LATER ON WHEN SHE'S TAKING NEW COCK.

Thats got to be the most disturbing thing ive read all day. But you all make good points. I sat down and realy thought about it after i made this thread and ive come to the conclusion that iam better off just letting go and doing whatever it is iam destned to do.

Cosmo Electrolux Feb 13th, 2008 07:21 PM

it's probably for the best. plenty of women roaming this planet, you know.

Chojin Feb 14th, 2008 12:39 PM

Yeah, and that particular bit of advice doesn't mean anything and it always pissed me off when I got it. That's not really the point, is it?

Boogie said pretty much what I was going to say. The whole 'starting my life over' bit was probably phrased that way to give you a hint, since women are prohibited by law from ever telling you what they actually think.

I am pleased by the sudden upswing of sincere loveline threads!

Like i said before you all make good points and realy I should have gotten the hint back in October when we first broke up. Iam just stupid and blind sometimes.

Dixie Feb 14th, 2008 02:10 PM

Love makes us all retarded in some way. Being blind to the obvious is just one of those things. Don't beat yourself up over it, sometimes it just doesn't work out no matter how hard you try and you just have to move on and make your own way. As long as you've learned something from your mistakes it's not a total loss.

Best thing Ive heard all day

Dixie Feb 14th, 2008 02:20 PM

It took me 5 years of breaking up and getting back together every other week with the same jerk to learn that myself.

Cosmo Electrolux Feb 14th, 2008 03:09 PM

well, the truth is not always pleasant. Get used to it.

Pub Lover Feb 14th, 2008 03:13 PM

More fish in the sea is pretty lame aphorism no matter how you phrase it.

Dr. Boogie Feb 14th, 2008 03:29 PM

I think it has more to do with the smell.

executioneer Feb 14th, 2008 04:32 PM

there's more fish in the sea, unfortunately most of them have too high of a mercury content and will slowly kill you

Dr. Boogie Feb 14th, 2008 04:50 PM

There's more fish in the sea, and that includes sharks in the water.
