Jesus Camp
Has anyone seen this? I've been watching videos of it on YouTube and it's... well, horrifying. I want to see the whole movie but I doubt my local video store would carry it, if it's even out on DVD yet.
Here's a clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bB2rt3IKJc |
my girlfriend was showing me this the other day and has been trying to convince me to rent it ;9
i couldnt even watch the 2nd one. that was pretty fucked up
My parents sent me to a Jesus labor camp.. or maybe a Labor for Jesus Camp... in Mexico when i was a kid.
http://www.uturn4christ.com/ :o ;o I escaped after the third week and walked back to california. |
I saw the whole thing on Google Video (it's been removed now but you can get a torrent here). It was really sad to see some pretty smart, articulate sounding children being completely brainwashed.
Even sadder is how the majority of people over there in the States seem to want to encourage these camps and similar activities. |
I have this on my netflix que, I can't wait to see it.

a very very small percentage of people, including christians, in the US endorse what they do. ;o
Bollocks, you guys love this shit.
the movie is 99% downloaded. :o
it seems horribly upsetting, though ;< |
I saw a little thing about it a few months ago and I just know i couldn't watch it. Luckily it pissed off so many people that the place closed, but there are always more.
you know i clicked this by error maybe jesus wanted me to see it :lol
Metalmilitia do you know anything about the U.S. at all
In his defense it is a small minority but they are very loud. It's no wonder it looks that way from the UK. ;o
Which is why he knows more about what Americans like than the people who actually live in the country. Just like I know what all the limies like, 'cause I watched Formula 51 a bunch of times.
I never claimed to know more about the US than people who live there. It's just that from my perspective all I ever hear about is how much you guys love JC. Especially in light of the recent athiest movement (or rather the church's reaction to it) and the ever bluring lines between church and state.
It's a huge, sweeping generalisation, I know. |
Hell, not enough people love Jebus! Don'tcha know thar's a war on Christmas?

Metal Militia, did you know that all Americans crave Hamburgers and drive on the wrong side of the road? They are fucking daff I tell you.
Yeah, GADZOOKS.
I really liked this movie. Yes, the people portrayed are just a small percentage of evangelicals, but it is so scary to see the children in the church camp. I felt really uncomfortable watching them crying and holding their hands up to God. These kids are at a time in their life when they are trying to learn about being accepted, and their parents are just teaching them intolerence of those who do not believe in God, or who aren't of their faith. The camp is closed temporarily, because of the negativity, but the woman who runs it says it will be open in the future.
It's a sweeping generalization, yes, but he is pretty much right on the fact that a lot of people over here DO love or otherwise believe in the JC. Some really love him.
And they vote. :( It definitely seems to me that church and state aren't as separate as they should be, and often times it shows. |
That's because you live in Florida :rolleyes
I'm watching it and it's making me physically ill. I feel threatened. :(
i want to rip that kid's rattail off of his head.
