Eve

WTF Anybody been playing it?

Dimnos Sep 22nd, 2009 10:23 PM

Havnt played it in a few years. Good game but $15/Month.... :\

I heard that the crafting system favors people who've been doing it for years, and that the economy is almost as complicated as the real one.

The game itself favors people who have been playing for years. In just about every aspect. However Just about everyone I met in that game was friendly and willing to help you out if in no other way that with just good advice. Not like most MMOs. Yeah the economy is quite complicated. Not to long ago I read an article about some guy in Australia who had been become the CEO of one of the largest in-game banks and basically pulled a Madoff. He then turned around and sold billions of in-game space bucks for like 5K Ausi bucks and put a down payment on a house. :lol

He got banned from the game, but man, that's awesome.

Dimnos Sep 23rd, 2009 12:12 PM

Yeah he got banned but fuck.... Got a down payment on house. Ill make that trade any day of the week.

Dimnos Sep 23rd, 2009 12:13 PM

Not to mention I think there is a Linux version of the game that is like $5/Month cheaper.

Fathom Zero Sep 23rd, 2009 02:04 PM

Damn, that's cool. Didn't know that.

That is pretty damn awesome.

I wonder how much work was required from him as an in-game CEO.

Dimnos Sep 23rd, 2009 04:37 PM

Not exactly sure. I never got any where near that far in the game. I think I got as far as getting a freighter license. :\

I've been playing it for about two weeks and I've been looking for a corporation to join and eventually rip off. I'm "Clark Griswald666" if anybody's interested in helping me defraud other players (fraud is allowed in the game to an extent as long as its done within the rules of Eve)

Right. The dude I mentioned above did not get banned for ripping off the company he was CEO of. He got banned because he then turned around and sold in game money for out of game money. EVE basically told all the players he ripped off "You should be more careful who you appoint CEO." :lol

Fathom Zero Sep 23rd, 2009 05:41 PM

Yeah, it was the terms of service that got him. I like how the devs take a laissez-faire attitude towards the game community.
