If it's possible to make people mods for specific forums, think you could make me and italiansterotype gaming mods (I'd say boogie too but he's already an admin)?

Not really, I've already got all the mods/admins I need. Boogie, Mew, Doopa, and myself are all admins/mods who can take care of anything on the board.

I dunno, I'm still gettin used to the admin stuff on the board now that I'm done customizing the hell out of it. Whenever AChimp comes here, I'll ask him about the titles since he runs a phpBB too. Perhaps there's an easy way around it rather than giving each individual a "rank".

Aye, but we've already almost got as many registered users as he does. I'm sure it's not hard to give a few people custom "ranks", but this board will just grow 'n grow 'n grow... I'm hoping there's an easier way. If not, no big deal, they're not that important.

i think there might be mods you can do to add another user field so users can change their own.

yea some vbullitens do it for sure..but i know i have seen one on a phpbb now that i think about it. but then agian it might have taken them a shitload of work and is probaly not worth it.

I haven't figured out any other way than to create new ranks for everyone that wants a title with the control panel that comes with phpBB.

I imagine that with a little bit of code, you could probably add a new field to the phpbb_users table and allow people to change their own title in their profiles, but I don't know what kind of effect that could have on other parts of the board. :/

Of course, it would eliminate all the fun we had with RaveKitty and her title. It might be best to only give custom titles to people that have earned them (or deserve them.)

Yeah, one thing I was thinking about was giving titles to people once they have a certain number of posts. There is a mod that I can install that allows people to give themselves titles, but it requires me to modify a ton of files, and if I were ever to upgrade the board, all would be lost. Plus, I hear it's a little buggy.

probably somewhere between 6 and 15,000 :counting

Not sure, I might just pick a random number... somethin like 500 or 1000 possibly. I dunno, it's not really something I'm thinking much about right now. Whenever I decide, I'll let you guys know for sure.

You can change the number of posts we all have by manually editting the database. :)

I already had far more posts than anyone else on the old board.

At the other board I post at regularly, the admin can change titles, but if you've got something like 10,000 posts or have been there for a year, you can change your custom title in your profile. There are ranks there too though.
