when you guys are done and send them back please let me or omgsmg know
YELLOW MEANS YOU GUYS ARE DONE AND HAVE SENT THEM BACK!!

so, this exquisite corpse will be of the physical form. meaning, we all pool addresses and each person gets sent a sheet of paper (not crappy computer paper; thick, good, absorbent paper) of a specific size, and each one has some guiding lines on it. for example:

here are the first and second sheets (just examples). each sheet has these guidelines drawn onto them (probably in ink or something else permanent), and these will serve as the "connecting lines." so as long as people follow these lines on the edges, each piece will connect together perfectly!

and here are some examples of how finished pieces would look when fitted together:

once they are all done, they would be mailed back to me to compile and scan, blah blah blah blah. the size we used for these images is 5" x 7". omgsmg and i would cut all of these papers to send off to people, as well as draw all the lines on them. we would be participating as well, but we promise to do our pieces before we get anyone else's back (so that it's fair).

here's the image that sparked omgsmg's idea for this project:

I am absolutely fucking serious about this.

YEEEEEEEEAAAAH, BOY

Grislygus Apr 28th, 2008 04:20 PM

So, it looks like from the examples that we only need four people, we have four volunteers, I say we do it

bigtimecow Apr 28th, 2008 08:28 PM

we could do as many as we want, and technically we have five (omgsmg and i came up with the idea, so we'd have to be included). BUT THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT. we should definitely start this soon

We probably should finish the last one before starting this one.

omgsmg Apr 29th, 2008 01:11 PM

i agree with nick & i wish more people would join!

Sacks Apr 29th, 2008 04:51 PM

You guys call me when we get some secret santa-esque art projects going on up in here. I WANT KEEPSAKES, PEOPLE, MEMORIES TO LAST A LIFETIME.

bigtimecow May 19th, 2008 04:06 PM

i'm bumping this. the second exquisite corpse is almost finished, so we need to start this one soon. i'll make a list in the first post soon

bigtimecow May 21st, 2008 12:38 AM

so, EC02 is done! check it out damnit >:

but alright, so you all need to pool your addresses to me, so me and omgsmg can get this shit sorted out

omgsmg May 21st, 2008 12:04 PM

it looks awesome! :P

bigtimecow May 22nd, 2008 01:32 AM

list started, everyone give me your addresses!

Nick May 22nd, 2008 03:43 PM

How does this work out with 5 people?

Sacks May 22nd, 2008 11:29 PM

Well if they intend to do the body like those other people they could simple do the sky and top of the head as the first one or have someone do the feet and the ground as the last.

Are all the guide markings going to be done on separate canvases/whatevers and sent out at the same time or are they all going to be sent around together? The first post lead me to believe it would be sent out separately but I'm curious and wanted to make sure.

bigtimecow May 23rd, 2008 11:46 AM

Nick, the amount of people doesn't really matter. it might not even end up being a legitimate person; they'll just flow together to form something.

Sacks, all sent at the same time, seperately. you should join!

Sacks May 23rd, 2008 12:27 PM

I'm thinking about it.

So will we know which person has which body part? As in, we know what part we should make?

omgsmg May 24th, 2008 12:29 AM

no one said it was going to be a body, it can be whatever you turn it into. the image above is just an example of how the whole thing will come together in the end.

you can turn it into a woman giving birth if you wanted to. it just needs to all connect to the lines you are given on your piece of paper. the outcome could end up being nothing but a bunch of pictures connected together; either way it'll be cool and everyone has a chance to show off their art and what they can do.

are you in nick? or are you out? please let us know asap.

bigtimecow May 24th, 2008 10:42 PM

okay, so i have everyone's address now, so it's up to me and omgsmg to get this all organized and send everything out. we'll keep you guys updated!

I'm in, I was just asking what's up with this.

sloth May 26th, 2008 11:51 AM

is this all sorted then? i'd like to join in but I don't want to be a spanner in the works or anything. plus I don't know how expensive it'd be to ship the kind of heavy stock paper you're talking about internationally. hollaback

bigtimecow May 26th, 2008 11:53 AM

where exactly?

sloth May 26th, 2008 12:01 PM

UK. If it's easier you can just email the dimensions and guiding line points, and I'll make it up here. I don't mind shipping it over.

bigtimecow May 26th, 2008 12:26 PM

i don't think the UK will be that much; PM me your address and you're in
