SPOILER
The level in the lodge felt surprisingly like playing F.E.A.R., what with the running and gunning around inside /SPOILER It felt like they tried to incorporate too many FPS elements into the game itself |

Saying that one level is a lodge doesn't spoil that much, CC.

I think the first one had a few "jumpy" moments but you get used to them after a while, regardless of whether you're playing or observing. I didn't see the "horror" or the "fear" in that. So is it scarier and/or more horrific than the first? It sounds "weaker." Do we still get mutant weirdos and damaged creepy mannequins? Or a need to collect dead birds? Those things at least qualify as "unsettling."

I loved the first one, but yes, it's not all that scary, and it's so short. I really wanna play this one, but I really don't wanna pay full price for it. I got Condemned 1 used for twenty bucks and I still feel like I paid too much, considering I unlocked almost every achievement within 8 hours of purchase.

Are you going to review the original Condemned?

Mutant weirdoes still abound, and the mannequins appear briefly in one scene that seems more like a tribute to the original than anything else. And the dead birds are still around, but you learn fairly early why they're dead, and it simply becomes a matter of going after the cause. |
Yeah, this game is definitely more about the creepiness than the scares. All the same, I've never experienced a scarier couple of minutes than the, shall we say, "Dick Butkus" sequence in the first part of the lodge level.

I'm going to wait until the price drops down to $20.00, it's the only reasonable thing to do.

Good game, nice fights but too many guns and not as scary as the first one. Still playing it on hard right now.
