According to a couple of articles I've read, the guy said "You ruined Pantera!" before he started firing.

I remember when I played in a band (Many, many years ago) how people would just jump on stage and start ranting into the mic....I don't recall how many times I've pushed these maniacs back into the audience......I'm not a big Pantera fan, and I have no excuse for the post above......once again, my apologies.

I remember going to see Metallica in a small hall and a kid kept reaching up on stage and pulling the mic chord, so the guitar guy kicked him in the head.
