W feels veterans pain

"As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself—not here at the hospital, but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won. The cedar gave me a little scratch."—After visiting with wounded veterans from the Amputee Care Center of Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 1, 2006

KevinTheOmnivore Jan 4th, 2006 12:28 PM

In the president's defense Max, you clearly haven't done the dance with a cedar. Those things are mean mother f'ers.......

ziggytrix Jan 4th, 2006 12:32 PM

Is this for real?

GAsux Jan 4th, 2006 12:32 PM

Evil.Do'ers.

Cosmo Electrolux Jan 4th, 2006 12:32 PM

oh, man....our president is so fucking stupid....

mburbank Jan 4th, 2006 02:01 PM

I'm afraid it is real.

And yes, Kev. Our commander in chief has now made the penultimate sacrifice.

ziggytrix Jan 4th, 2006 02:22 PM

I'm sure the amputees thought it was a hilarious joke. >:

mburbank Jan 4th, 2006 03:00 PM

Well, see, if you time it right you visit the ones who are chock full of Morphine. Those guys are great for the quotes about how they'd do it all again tat Bush Senior was so fond of getting during the first gulf war.

Kulturkampf Jan 4th, 2006 09:40 PM

What was the exact context?

If he is laughing and joking around with them, I see no reason why not to continue.

I do not think it is that bad -- it is probably taken very out of context.

hamster of smite Jan 4th, 2006 09:52 PM

No "the war on cedars" jokes yet? I am highly disappointed.

Geggy Jan 4th, 2006 10:12 PM

And you guys are surprised he would say something like this because...?

If he's laughing and joking around, that makes it worse. Who in their right mind jokes about war injuries with recently wounded soldiers? And if he isn't joking, how much of his brain was damaged in that vicious cedar attack? Either way, he's fucking stupid.

mburbank Jan 5th, 2006 11:35 AM

Kultkramp is almost getting my attention for his clumsy phrasing.

If the soldiders havebegun joking aout theirwound, i see it as appropriate. And pleasant.

I also want to say that he is not stupid. He hardly studied at Yale and still pulled off better grades than John Kerry.

Immortal Goat Jan 7th, 2006 01:32 AM

You can get good grades and still be an idiot. Booksmart means shit when dealing with worldly affairs. Some of the most booksmart people I know are completely inept at dealing with other human beings, and would make terrible leaders. W is one of these people. He may have fairly gotten good grades *snicker*, but he is completely incapable of running a corner store, let alone a whole goddamned country.

I'm not sure what transcripts you've been looking at (or if you're just suffering from verbal diarrhea) but their averages were off eachother by a single point.
Not that I really want to defend Kerry.

Oh, and Bush is a bumbling putz with absolutely no oratory skills whatsoever and there's very very little room to argue that point.

KevinTheOmnivore Jan 7th, 2006 03:06 PM

btw guys, just thought I'd mention this-- I made the Dean's list like every semester in college. I should totally run for president, right?

Do we seriously have to revert back to the college test scores debate? Good grief.....

Kulturkampf Jan 8th, 2006 08:32 AM

We should all make judgments about Pres. Bush's perceived intelligence -- since we disagree with his policies, he must certainly be a doorknob.

His phrasing is like that of someone from a very colloquial region...

I do not think itis bad.

sadie Jan 8th, 2006 10:34 AM

:lol you said it.

Dr. Boogie Jan 8th, 2006 03:00 PM

He's right. Bush suffers from "I-do-not-think-itis".
